I am developing a program in WPF, getting a picture from the web and used an image control.
My image list has 50 pictures (from vimeo's thumbnails). Everything looks fine but number 45. The picture has some problem and when I get to the 45th picture, I get this exception:
Value does not fall within the expected range.
exception http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/2748/5688301315b2497090468bc.png
I used try-catch but I can't catch it. Because it occurs in the Bitmap class. Here are the details:

Here is my code:
for (int i = 0; i <50 ; i++)
{
product p = new product();
Common.SelectedOldColor = p.Background;
p.VideoInfo = results[i];
Common.Products.Add(p, false);
p.Visibility = System.Windows.Visibility.Hidden;
p.Drop_Event += new product.DragDropEvent(p_Drop_Event);
main.Children.Add(p);
}
when I set the p.VideoInfo = results[i]; property, it assigns something:
private VideoList videoInfo;
public VideoList VideoInfo
{
get { return videoInfo; }
set
{
videoInfo = value;
label1.Content = videoInfo.Title;
try
{
image1.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(videoInfo.ThumbNail));
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
}
}
}
image1.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(videoInfo.ThumbNail));
Here is source of the problem. but just for this image:
I tried many times and each images are fine. But this one is different? Maybe it's blur?
How can I fix this problem? Maybe I can use different way to assign source to image1?
I hope that I described well.
Try to ignore the color profile, maybe the metadata is corrupted:
var bi = new BitmapImage();
bi.BeginInit();
bi.CreateOptions = BitmapCreateOptions.IgnoreColorProfile;
bi.UriSource = new Uri("http://hanselman.com/blog/images/JPGwithBadColorProfile.jpg");
bi.EndInit();
foo.Source = bi;
or using XAML:
<Image>
<Image.Source>
<BitmapImage CreateOptions="IgnoreColorProfile" UriSource="{Binding ....}"/>
</Image.Source>
</Image>
Also look here Source.
It reminds me of my own question. If you load the images in a tight loop it will crash after X images. You may need to return the thread to the dispatcher for a second to clean up some used memory.

Debug build works fine, Release build throws a NullReferenceException for the following code:
MetadataObjectCollection<ExplorerAddress> storedExplorerAddressesCollection = null;
bool test = this.storedExplorerAddressesCollectionReference == null;
if ((test) || !this.storedExplorerAddressesCollectionReference.TryGetTarget(out storedExplorerAddressesCollection))
Is there some new broken optimization for release builds or something? This is pretty bad so I can't imagine its a bug with visual studio but I also can't see how anything I did could have made this break.

I'm trying to extract background from Kinect Depth Image using Egmu Open CV library using this code:

DepthImage.Source = displaySource;

var emguImage = new Image<Gray, short>(bitmap);
}

This application is created in WPF. What is causing this problem?
This problem stumped me for a while too initially. Format16bppGrayScale wasn't actually completely implemented by Microsoft and consequently it doesn't work (furthermore, I think it's associated with WinForms and not WPF). What I've done to work around it in my case is to use another format such as Bgr565. The quality won't be perfect if you're still trying to gray it using Emgu, but it's more than usable.
I actually asked the almost identical question here.
I was having an exception.
I created a try catch for the InitializeComponent() like this.
try
{
InitializeComponent();
Auto_Complete();
}
catch(Exception ex)
{
System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
}
Then i get an exception saying "Object reference not set to an instance of an object.".
I was looking for the cause of the error.
Then i found that the error was due to a control i added in xaml.
xmlns:wf="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Forms;assembly=System.Windows.Forms"
<WindowsFormsHost Margin="272,10,396,42" Width="240">
<wf:TextBox x:Name="txtAutoProductCode" AutoCompleteMode="SuggestAppend" AutoCompleteSource="CustomSource" />
</WindowsFormsHost>
This is windows.forms control which i added into xaml for autocomplete capability.
But this exception is making it difficult.
i have created an autocomplete() function and connected the textbox:
void Auto_Complete()
{
txtAutoProductCode.AutoCompleteMode = AutoCompleteMode.SuggestAppend;
txtAutoProductCode.AutoCompleteSource = AutoCompleteSource.CustomSource;
AutoCompleteStringCollection coll = new AutoCompleteStringCollection();
SqlCeCommand com = new SqlCeCommand("SELECT ProductCode FROM Category_Master(CategoryName)", con);
SqlCeDataReader dr;
try
{
dr = com.ExecuteReader();
while (dr.Read())
{
string aProduct = dr.GetString(0);
coll.Add(aProduct);
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(ex.Message, System.Windows.Forms.Application.ProductName, MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Error);
}
txtAutoProductCode.AutoCompleteCustomSource = coll;
}
public MainWindow()
{
try
{
InitializeComponent();
Auto_Complete();
}
catch(Exception ex)
{
System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString());
}
}
Here is the exception

This may well help solve it for you to work out exactly where the problem is
XAMLParseException is a common exception thrown in WPF. Unfortunately
it isn't very helpful.
To help find out what the real error is, you can turn on exception
reporting much earlier in Visual Studio. Default key combination is
Ctrl + Alt + E. From there, check all the boxes.
Now the exception that is thrown in your code will be highlighted in
the debugger.

I'm having a very weird error using the WebClient class in .NET 4.
The app simply downloads some files off the internet and provides output on a textbox (the GUI is WPF). The method that does this is the following:
void DownloadFiles(object files) {
var fileL = (List<string>) files;
foreach (string url in fileL)
{
byte[] data;
using (var k = new WebClient())
{
data = k.DownloadData(url);
}
//Bunch of irrelevant code goes here...
}
}
(I added the using while trying to divine [yes I'm that desperate/ignorant] a solution, the problem happens even if the webclient is declared and initialized outside the foreach loop)
Now the problem appears only when I'm executing this method on a thread separate from the WPF UI main thread. If it is executed on the UI thread then it works perfectly. When a new thread is created with:
Thread t = new Thread(DownloadFiles);
t.Start(files);
The first time the code goes into the loop it will work, but when its the second pass inside the loop, I will always receive a TargetParameterCountException.
I can't make any sense of this error. Any help is very much appreciated.
