What is Placing the Blue Sidebar in VS 2013 [duplicate] - c#

Today when I started Visual Studio 2012 at work I found some new colored bars.
We work on a shared remote server through RDP, so I asked around if someone has installed or updated anything. It seems no one has done "anything".
There are the bars I'm seeing:
The leftmost bars, the green and yellow one, I know about. They show where the file has been edited since its opening (yellow means the changes has not been saved yet, green means they have been saved).
The rightmost one, I'm lost about them. They seem to usually mirror the leftmost, but not always. They persist through file close-reopen.
Through some tinkering, it seems the green rectangles means new lines added, the blue rectangles means existing lines modified and the red triangles means removed lines.
These are the information form Visual Studio's About window:

They come from the GIT source control provider. I suppose your project is versioned, so those bars give you information about lines that are changed in some way, and what is the nature of the change.

Visual Studio 2022 automatically changes namespace when moving cs file to antoeher folder

VS started to "synchronize" the namespace of a file with the folder structure when moving files into another folder. I could not find a setting for this in the options menu and also searching for it online did not result in any useful information.
How can I turn this off?

Installing Xamarin for Visual Studio totally offline

I want to develop Android apps using C# with Xamarin in Visual Studio.
However, they provide an installer which will download required files only. How can I download a full offline (incl. its requirements) installer?
I have the following software already installed:
- Java 8u101
- Java SE Development Kit 8u91
- .NET Framework 4.6 with SDK
- Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express (I don't know if Xamarin will work with this - please let me know)
- Android SDK (installed earlier for Android Studio)
If you know where I can download an offline installer for Xamarin.Android, please let me know. I cannot download through the Universal Installer since I have a poor connection.
I apologize if I have posted in the wrong place.
Thank you
Update: i have VS 2015 ENTERPRISE EDITION
If you log in to your Xamarin account page and go to the downloads section [1].
You'll be able to get everything you need for an offline install if you click the "Show all versions" link underneath the large blue button.
Grab the Xamarin.iOS or Xamarin.Android Windows installer (they're the same thing) - that's it!
Seeing as you need Visual Studio 2015 (as you have 2010 and Xamarin is not compatible with 2010 anymore), you can also grab a copy of the VS 2015 Community ISO [2].

[2] https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48146
If You want to install it by Visual Studio installer:
Try download it manually. View file Catalog.json at installation root. Find string containing "Xamarin.VisualStudio":
{"id":"Xamarin.VisualStudio","version":"4.6.3.4","type":"Vsix","payloads":[{"fileName":"Xamarin.VisualStudio.vsix","sha256":"c082f47bc00da4420cd1e90f167ad4285688b5c5df1d115c5dda1f1ec2aa1ffb","size":492545242,"url":"https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/11327837/d68d54e233c956ff79799fdf63753c54/Xamarin.VisualStudio.vsix"}],"vsixId":"Xamarin.VisualStudio",
here
4.6.3.4 - version of Xamarin;
https://download.visualstudio.microsoft.com/download/pr/11327837/d68d54e233c956ff79799fdf63753c54/Xamarin.VisualStudio.vsix - try download this file, then check file size and checksum, here sha256.
If all ok, change file name to "Xamarin.VisualStudio.vsix" and put it to folder at root of instalation, and name it using id and version, here :
Xamarin.VisualStudio,version=4.6.3.4

ReSharper Unit Test not run in bin directory

Preamble
I know, that this question seems to have anwsers here:
Resharper runs UnitTest from different location
Resharper Unit Test Runner Can't Find Content Files
I have nearly the same problem like ReSharper 10 test runner failing to find AppSettings referenced from external file.
But these answer stated, that the problem should be gone with ReSharper 10.0.2
Question
I included a custom.xml files with custom settings, and I need to read them from my unit test. But my file is not found.
I looked, where the process runs, and included this line
var curdir = Directory.GetCurrentDirectory();
So I found out, that curdir is C:\\Users\\MYUSER\\AppData\\Local\\JetBrains\\Installations\\ReSharperPlatformVs11_000
Now it is obvious that my file cannot be found. After googling it, it found the above mentioned questions. But none of these solutions works for me.
These are my settings:

You don't list any version of NUnit installed, but you tagged this 'nunit' so I'm going to make an assumption you are using it! Further, I'm assuming NUnit >= 3.0... ignore this if otherwise. :-)
NUnit 3.0 stopped changing current directory. It's a bad idea for us to do that anyway and it's a really bad idea with 3.0, when multiple assemblies in differing directories may be running at the same time.
So, assuming still it's an NUnit problem, instead of using a relative path, use TestContext.CurrentContext.TestDirectory as the location of your file.
try this:
Directory.SetCurrentDirectory(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory);
In my case was fixed when I changed to this setting
The thing that helped me with such issue - I just turned off NUnit 2.x support in ReSharper settings (ReSharper -> Options... -> Tools -> Unit Testing -> NUnit).
I also turned off NUnit 2.x support and even if it has obviously nothing to do with the problem, it solved it (I have ReSharper 2017.3.20180201.111630)
We are using TestCaseSource in our tests.
So the fix for me in Rider version 2021.1.3 was to change Build-->Unit Testing-->NUnit to Test Runner

Is it still possible to configure the Visual Studio 2015 debugger to display objects including a "base" entry, that shows inherited members in layers?
Or did ReSharper do this to me?
No, it did not.

This could be a VS2015 bug, here's a blog post on how to log a bug, rather "send a frown". Be warned, that by default, sending a bug report in that manner will also send a screen capture of your entire desktop so if you have any bugs in your source, make sure they look pretty ;-)
If you have a VM around, you can try a clean install of VS2015, then apply your add-ins, one at a time, to see if any are the culprits.
Still waiting for Update 1 to get released... there's a few bugs in the debugger that will hopefully get fixed soon.
