I am using GraphAPI from Azure and want to GET data from the API using the graphClient SDK. I want to list all members of a specific group and display some more details about them. The problem is that I miss the property CompanyName in the response from the API (null).
I build the request like this (searchParam is the group id):
await graphClient.Groups[searchParam.ToString()]
.Members
.Request()
.GetAsync(cancellationToken);
Anyone know if I can get the CompanyName in the same request? (I dont want to make another request just to fetch the companyname).
I tried filter and extend methods, but not sure if that is the way to go?
Thanks for your time and help!
try this code pls and it worked for me.
var members = await graphClient.Groups["{group_id}"].Members.Request().Select("id,displayName,companyName").GetAsync();
This is because, when we call list member graph api, it will return a list of directoryObject objects, and user is also a kind of directoryObject. And when user is the response, it won't return companyName by default, so we need to use Odata select feature.

I am using the Microsoft Graph API to access some events in my company's Azure AD Outlook.
The problem I am now having is that I can not access the CalendarView (or really I can't access the user at all) when I try to specify the user with an UUID instead of an email. The strange thing is that email works just fine, but I am not allowed to store emails outside of the Azure AD, so ID would be the preferred method.
Here is the exact API call I try to make: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/user-list-calendarview?view=graph-rest-1.0&tabs=csharp
But all examples only use the .Me accessor and not the .Users[{ID | userPrincipalName}]
I am quite sure that the UUID I use is correct since it comes from an API call earlier. Or does the documentation article mean something else than the user UUID by {ID | userPrincipalName}?
A room looks like this (when read as a JSON object):
{
"id": "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000"
"emailAdress": "room#company"
...
}
This works:
await graphClient.Users["room#company"].CalendarView.Request(queryOptions).GetAsync();
While this does not work:
await graphClient.Users["00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000"].CalendarView.Request(queryOptions).GetAsync();
When using the UUID I get (IDs not shown here):
Code: ErrorInvalidUser
Message: The requested user '<UUID>' is invalid
ClientRequestId: <some ID>
I did test this with a hardcoded room id and email but also with the ID object I get from calling the roomlist in C#.
Another inconsistency I encountered is that I can read the whole list of microsoft.graph.room via a http request but not using the C# Microsoft.Graph.Auth package. Reading the data of a room I know the email from does however work.
So does this just not work and the doc doesn't say so?
Does the Microsoft.Graph.Auth package not support those kind of requests?
Or do I use a wrong ID?

According to some test, only when I use incorrect object id of user it shows same error message as yours.
If I use another user's object id(not object id of the user do authentication), it will show ErrorAccessDenied because do not have permission.
If I use the object id which the user not exist in Azure AD(incorrect object id), it will show same error message with yours. So please check if the uuid which you mentioned is the user's object id(shown in below screenshot) in your Azure AD and please check if you input the correct format of object id in your code by Console.WriteLine(object id)
I created a middleware app that will pull work item data from TFS.
I was able to do this using the workitems end point.
http://sampleserver:8080/tfs/sampleproject/_apis/wit/wiql?api-version=4.0/workitems?ids=1,2,3
Now, I also need to get the work item links per work item. Per docu I would need to access the workitem with expand items. But unfortunately, work item end point does not seem to work.
http://sampleserver:8080/tfs/sampleproject/_apis/wit/wiql?api-version=4.0/workitem/3
Am I missing something here?
According to your description, looks like you just want the URL of created WorkItem, so that anyone when click on URL, created Work Item will be Open.
https://tfsurl:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection/PatrickProject/_workitems/edit/172/
The URL should be above format and here DefaultCollection is the collection name and the PatrickProject is the project name. I used this url and got rid of the id '172' in this case and use the ID of newly created work item. This would return the URL to go to the work item HTML page.
So it's a fixed format, if you have Newly Created WorkItem ID and collection name , project name, you just need to follow above format and change the last value of work item ID. That's it , ignore of which work item type you created.
If you want do this with code, do not use Rest API, you need to use client API, sample snippet:
var tfsURI = new Uri("http://test:8080/tfs");
var networkCredential1 = new NetworkCredential("test", "test!");
ICredentials credential = (ICredentials)networkCredential1;
Microsoft.VisualStudio.Services.Common.WindowsCredential winCred = new Microsoft.VisualStudio.Services.Common.WindowsCredential(credential);
VssCredentials vssCredentials = new VssCredentials(winCred);
using (TfsTeamProjectCollection collection = new TfsTeamProjectCollection(tfsURI, vssCredentials))
{
collection.EnsureAuthenticated();
TswaClientHyperlinkService hyperlinkService =
collection.GetService<TswaClientHyperlinkService>();
String TFSurl = hyperlinkService.GetWorkItemEditorUrl(17648).ToString(); //17648 WorkItem ID
}
Hope this Helps!
To get specific work item information you need to use the Get Workitem API call so try http://sampleserver:8080/tfs/sampleproject/_apis/wit/workitems/3?api-version=4.0 instead.
You can also use this http://sampleserver:8080/tfs/sampleproject/_apis/wit/workitems/3?$expand=Links&api-version=4.0 and this will return the work with Id of 3 and all it's links (parent, attached files, changetset, etc.)
Notice that the api-version=4.0 with change depending on the version of TFS/Service you are using and should always be the last string in the REST call.
I want to change my code from Microsoft.Azure.ActiveDirectory.GraphClient to Microsoft.Graph on the same registered App. On some data structure(e.g. Group, Company), the fetched data are the same. but the fetched data of User are different. (I am using the V1.0 of the Graph API.)
For example, when I try to fetch certain user by its upn.
The old method is to call:
graphClient.Users.Where(user => user.UserPrincipalName.Equals(upn)).ExecuteSingleAsync()
//graphClient is an instance of ActiveDirectoryClient
And the new one is to call:
graphClient.Users.Request().Filter("userPrincipalName eq '"+ upn + "'").GetAsync()
//graphClient is an instance of GraphServiceClient
Although they will both fetch the same user with correct information of input UPN. But compared to the old method, data fetched by new method are not sufficient, many of its properties are null. Such as AccountEnabled, Othermails, AssignedPlans, and UserType.
Am I calling GraphServiceClient in a wrong way so that it cannot fetch all the data? Or should I fetch these null properties with a supplement call?
Thanks!
Am I calling GraphServiceClient in a wrong way so that it cannot fetch all the data?
That's the normal behaviour of Microsoft Graph user API, see Microsoft Graph user API here and this extract:
By default, only a limited set of properties are returned ( businessPhones, displayName, givenName, id, jobTitle, mail, mobilePhone, officeLocation, preferredLanguage, surname, userPrincipalName ). This example illustrates the default request and response.
Or should I fetch these null properties with a supplement call?
We could use $select parameter to query the property. The following is demo code you could refer to. You could select the properties that you wanted. It works for me.
var user = graphserviceClient.Users.Request().Select(x =>new
{
x.UserPrincipalName,
x.DisplayName,
x.AccountEnabled,
x.UsageLocation
} ).Filter("userPrincipalName eq '" + upn + "'")
.GetAsync().Result;
Test result:
You can add a Select statement to your request to include certain fields:
var users = await graphserviceClient.Users.Request()
.Select("displayName,givenName,surname,accountEnabled,mail,mobilePhone,userPrincipalName,assignedPlans")
.GetAsync()
I am trying to update Account in Stripe Api using Stripe.netlibrary ,using StripeAccountService and storing it in StripeAccountclass which i made by myself to store the result returned by API :
var accountService = new StripeAccountService("secretKey in string");
StripeRequestOptions option = new StripeRequestOptions();
option.StripeConnectAccountId = "AccountId to update";
StripeAccount x = accountService.Get(option);
x.Email = "Local#local.com";
//Then i do not know how to save changes back to api now.
But StripeAccountService class has no Update method define. How I can perform update on the Account.
I am using this library. Stripe api does have an update method too here.
Stripe.net does not support managed accounts: "Managed Accounts are a valuable service as well, but they are not available in Stripe.net yet." https://github.com/jaymedavis/stripe.net#stripe-connect
Stripe.net doesnot support Managed account but it can be done using following approach it is for update account.
I won't be able to give code but can provide the correct approach, it is tested.
https://api.stripe.com/v1/account
is the Url for updating stripe account.
Now you need to add two header and a body you can try WebRequest or httpclient class.
The reason i am unable to provide code because i did not do any research in adding multiple headers and a body.
so it would look something like this
Header
Property value
Authorization bearer "SecretKey"
Stripe-Account "acct_16uR8kKN01245679"
Body
Property value
email "test#test.com"
support_phone "555-867-5309"
You can see complete property list here. i picked few for demonstration purpose only.
Then save the response in any variable and it is done.
i use instaSharp api to create an instagram web app
after i get token access i want to see followers and following list of my profile and another people profile
i need some method to Get another user followers and following !
in the official instagram web app you cant see followers and following list (just see amount) , So does this api support it ? How i Can do it ?
this api has a poor document and samples ,
How i can use this method ? instaSharpDoc
thanks
You can see user's followers and followings list with the official Instagram API.
https://instagram.com/developer/endpoints/relationships/ - documentation
https://api.instagram.com/v1/users/{user-id}/follows?access_token=ACCESS-TOKEN - Get the list of users this user follows.
https://api.instagram.com/v1/users/{user-id}/followed-by?access_token=ACCESS-TOKEN - Get the list of users this user is followed by.
You cannot request data from another user, e.g. followers and following, without the user authorization step.
Firstly, you need to redirect the user to an authorization page. After the user inputs his credentials, he will be redirected to a page(redirect_uri value) you have sent in the authorization request, where you will request the access_token to make requests on his account.
There is another option: you can add the username you want to make requests onto your app's Sandbox (require user verification). The username will receive a notification to authorize or revoke the access to your account. After authorizing it, you will be able to make requests on his account.
If you would like to understand more detailed information, please, have a quick look at the documentation about Sandbox at https://www.instagram.com/developer/sandbox/. It will help you clarify your mind and your implementation code.
I hope it helps you.
This solved for me using InstaSharper (without accessToken but using username and password for loggin in):
var following = await api.GetUserFollowingAsync("yourUserName",PaginationParameters.Empty);
var followers = await api.GetUserFollowersAsync("yourUserName", PaginationParameters.Empty);
This is the repository: https://github.com/a-legotin/InstaSharper
Tutorial to get starting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9leg398KAw
I don't know if this is useful but for me it works:
IResult<InstaUserShortList> followers = await api.GetUserFollowersAsync(userToScrape,
PaginationParameters.MaxPagesToLoad(5));
for (int i = 0; i < followers.Value.Count; i++)
{
Console.WriteLine($"\n\t{followers.Value[i].UserName}\n\t");
}
It gives you back the username of all of the followers of a user (change UserToScrape with the one that you prefer).
