I am not a visual studio programmer but I need to whip up a quick app to display an image and manipulate it's height and width using a slider. I've done the quick google and all of the information talks about using picturebox(picbox) as the image containing control but I don't seem to have a picbox control in my VS C# express install.
Should it be missing? How do I get it back or install it? What are my alternatives?
If you've looked carefully in the toolbox and couldn't find it, you may have accidentally deleted the icon. Right click on the "All Windows Forms" section header in the toolbox and select "Choose Items". Check the checkbox near the "PictureBox" control. It'll show up in the toolbox.
In WPF, you should be looking for the "Image" control instead.
It was that I was in a WPF project rather than a windows form project like Mehrdad pointed out

Where I can find that image? I want locked and unlocked. Are these default images implemented in visual studio?
Have a look at Visual Studio Image Library
Currently It will be a good choice to use PictureBox and upload images to achieve this purpose. Here are the steps:
Add PictureBox control.
Click the arrow in the upper right corner of the PictureBox.
You can click ‘Choose Image’ and select local resource to import the icon you need.
At last, you can change the size mode of the PictureBox to an appropriate size.
You can find the lock-icon and lock-open-icon online. If you don’t mind, please use these I found.
I've been working on a project for some time, and it requires alphablended non rectangular forms...
which in a little research I found can be easily done in WPF. So I decided to port my project from WinForms to WPF.
There are a few complications like a reference DLL based on WinForms I've been using doesn't work under WPF; it doesn't even show in the designer toolbox. I already tried loading it into the toolbox by right clicking and selecting Choose Items.., but it does not show there either.
I have never worked on WPF before, but it looks so promising for my requirements.
So is there anything I could do to integrate my project into WPF?
There is a control named 'WindowsFormsHost' in WPF. You can find it in toolbox. Drag it on the form and then you can use windows controls and user controls on it.
Hope this information will help.
i am building a C# application, i have explored its all controls but i cant find the left menu style which i usually see in software applications for example visual studio, i am attaching the image of what i need.
Please let me know how can i use it in my forms. I have used a tab menu control in visual studio, but it is not what i required, its tabs are vertical, but i want the exact like i shown in attachment. I think it requires some reference to add.
I don't think that control is available, which means you would have to make one yourself. Here is a link from someone that made one. I haven't tried it: Visual Studios "My Project" Tab Control
There is no such a control in the ToolBox by default. But you could create one for you.
Creat a user controller.
Added a SplitContainer and set Dock.Fill.
Add a FlowLayoutPanel to the Left panel. Add buttons or labels as you wish and implement the click event.
I have two questions.
I am usinq Devexpress Winforms
What is the name of control of the
Visual studio toolbox.I wanna add a
control list like visual studi
toolbox.What is the name?
How can I add the flow chart to my
c# project?
For Dev Express, I would perhaps try something like the XtraNavBar:
Windows Side Bar Control
For a flow chart, I don't think Dev Express has a C# winforms flow chart right now.

#Deneme, The style of control that you see as the Visual Studio Toolbox is called 'an accordion control'. There is not one in the standard forms toolset, but it is not too difficult to build your own out of buttons & panels, and you can tailor it to your own needs and situation.
As for your second question about adding a flow chart, I am not aware of a single tool that you can drag and drop on to a form and set your users loose, but again, it should not be too difficult for you to create panels & buttons to create your own. Depending your needs you may be able to use some pieces of the Office Developers Toolkit to help you get there.
I'm trying to do like what you can see on the image below:
I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. In my Form I added a TabControl
and set its Alignment properties to Bottom. But as you can see in the image below, It seems there's something wrong in the display. How can I fix it?
Can't do it with the standard Tab control.
Try Tab Control with Correct Bottom Theming in .NET from codeproject.com.
