Issue finding xpath c#

How to write xpath for the below HTML:
<span id="filename_548948">Test DC Email </span>
The following xpath doesn't seem to work:
Driver.FindElement(By.XPath(".//span[text() = '" + nameOfEmail + "']")).Click();

The solution depends on what the string nameOfEmail contains.
You have an xpath query on exact text. Meaning every character should be the same in the search as on the webpage.
So if string nameOfEmail = "Test DC Email "
It will search properly.
Also, losing the . in front of the // might help

As per the HTML you have shared you can use the following xpath :

client-side validation including unicode character ranges

I got an asp:Textbox as well as an asp:RegularExpressionValidator on my page. Now I try to validate the input for any character of any culture i.e. the German name Günter. Unfortunately instead of the server-sided validation, the client-sided validation fails, because JavaScript is unable to match all culture letters when using \w in the regular expression pattern. Using explicit characters works (^[\wÄÜÖäüö]+$), but this is no solution, since I have to support ALL letters of ALL cultures.
To be honest I need \p{L} in JavaScript. There is a library (XRegExp) that supports this very well. But, how can I force ASP.NET to use this library instead of the default regex functions of JavaScript? I do not want to use an asp:CustomValidator and make even more work to do per form I create.

The validation in RegularExpressionValidator is done server side or client side.
When you set EnableClientScript="false" you can use "\p{L}" to validate "Günter"

If EnableClientScript="true", your regular expression must be ECMAScript compliant, otherwise it will fail. The behavior of ECMAScript and canonical regular expressions differs, see ECMAScript Matching Behavior.
In other words, to match unicode letters you need to set exact code of each letter or a range between letters similar to a-zA-Z.
Example: to match most of "european" letters from À-ž (see character map tool), use

Thanks to mgibsonbr, his list helped me to get all the unicode ranges. (Check the script)
As you can see, it contains a huge global variable that handles unicode codes for all \p extensions, a variable for the \w parameter and a variable for the \d parameter. It's already double escaped, because the validation controls of ASP.NET store the client sided regular expression inside a variable, hence it needs to be double escaped. For more information about the unicode maps: http://www.regular-expressions.info/unicode.html
Looking to the produced client sided ASP.NET code we can see a regular expression validator produces some like these:

When looking on the result HTML, it will hook the variable from our JS into the validationexpression variable:

As you can see on the comments I made in the Render function, this trick / hack will restrict your usage of possibilities in the asp:RegularExpressionValidator though. So you cannot use \W, \D and \P{X} as well as you have to place \w, \d and \p{X} between corner brackets [], always.
I hope anybody will come with a better solution, but for now, it works.

C# Append Newline To <p> tags in HTML fragment

I've done this but it feels dirty and wrong. What are some better alternatives?

The input string is an HTML fragment serialized to a string. I want to make sure there is a new line for every <p></p> pair. Obviously if the NewLine already exists I don't want to have two lines between each <p></p> pair.
I briefly looked at trying something with the HTML Agility Pack, but I didn't see any save overload or options for cleaning up HTML. I've got very little experience with that library however so if there is a way to do it I'm all ears.

You are missing quotes in your second append. The script highlighter even shows the error.
If you want double quotes within a string it needs to be escaped, e.g. \"

Your New line in constant is due to the fact you're breaking the line without telling the compiler that you want a second line.
There is 3 ways you can fix this:
don't break the line
escape every special character
use # sign to do what you want

You also need to avoid using a mix of single and double quotes inside a string, the idea is to only use single quotes inside and use double quotes to delimit the string.
You can also use the # in front of a string and you can then break the line like this:

I also used StringBuilder to avoid having variables inside the template, as it makes it way more simple to see and edit.
And last, but not least, you should know a little bit more about HTML ... there is no such thing as target="http://localhost:51819"...

c# regular expression to match img src="*" type URLs

I have a regex in c# that i'm using to match image tags and pull out the URL. My code is working in most situations. The code below will "fix" all relative image URLs to Absolute URLs.
The issue is that the regex will not match the following:
<img height="150" width="202" alt="" src="../Image%20Files/Koala.jpg" style="border: 0px solid black; float: right;">
For example it matches this one just fine
<img height="147" width="197" alt="" src="../Handlers/SignatureImage.ashx?cid=5" style="border: 0px solid black;">
Any ideas on how to make it match would be great. I think the issue is the % but I could be wrong.

Using RegEx to parse images in this way is a bad idea. See here for a good demonstration of why.
You can use an HTML parser such as the HTML Agility Pack to parse the HTML and query it using XPath syntax.

First, I would try to skip all the manual parsing and use linq to html

If that didn't work, only then would I go back to manual parsing and I'm sure one of the fine gentle-people here has already posted a working regex for your needs.

regex is a bad idea. better use an html parser. here is a a regex i used for parsing links with regex though:

I don't know what your program does, but I'm guessing this is an example of something you would do in 5 minutes from the command line in linux. You can download windows versions of many of the same tools (sed, for instance) and save yourself the hassle of writing all that code.
