Show a calendar extendar within Asp.net application

I have an Asp.net application in which i'd like to add a calendar extendar. So i use this code:

The problem is : when i click into the TextBox the calendar isn't shown :
Why this happens?
How can i modify my code to fix this error?

I don't believe that the CalendarExtender behaves the way you're expecting. At least, it doesn't for me. What I usually do is add an ImageButton and make the CalendarExtender's PopupButtonID equal to the ImageButton's ID.

Accessing child control in ASP.NET

I am trying to find out if it's possible to have a control inside another control in ASP, like this:

Can I access DataList1 control? I have been trying, but I can't figure it out, I should be able to access nested controls, but I cant get it to do it.

Controls inside Template tags cannot be directly accessed in code behind. Instead you should use FindControl method:
var dataList1 = (DataList)FormView1.FindControl("DataList1");
Note that this might not work in early stages of page life cycle (not until Page_Load I believe).

UpdatePanel cause error: PageRequestManagerServerErrorException

I have a page that works fine with multiple a grid and multiple buttons. The page works fine until I add an asp:UpdatePanel. Then I get the following message pushing any of my buttons:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: Input string was not in a correct format.
There is no javascript on the page just straight html.
Here is the page:

If I take the TextBox out, it works fine. Nothing is in the code behind.
What would cause this?

As per experience, I only encounter that exception when calling Javascript from codebehind, like when using ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock() to call window.alert(), for instance. But for this issue, I think this resolves it: http://forums.asp.net/t/1823287.aspx/2/10.

fire a textbox's OnTextChanged while enabled=false

I have an ajax toolkit calendar extender attached to my textbox and i a trying to fire the OnTextChanged after the date was entered into the textbox.
The thing is i don't want the user to enter data manually so i disabled the textbox but the event won't fire for a disabled text box.
is there anyway around it? i thought about changing to a label but is doesn't have OnTextChanged event.

Can you use ReadOnly instead of Enabled = false?

It seems that the CalendarExtender "steals" away the events from the texbox it uses.
Using this approach I managed to fire up the OnTextChanged event and the handler txtSearch_TextChanged gets executed.

Did you make the textbox ReadOnly?

how do I show a webpage in a modal popup?

I'm having surprisingly bad luck finding a decent resource for this. But What I'm doing is creating a list of tickets using a ListView. One of the controls in the item template is a link button that shows the header of the ticket. When the user clicks the link button, I want to open a modal window that shows the ticket in readable format. To get the ticket, I'll be passing that page a variable and it'll do the rest; nothing complicated. The page will have 3 buttons and the windows needs to close when you click one of them.
Now, I figured out how to use the ModalPopupExtender from the Ajax tookit more or less. You create the panel in it's own div which stays hidden. I created a click event that basically uses a webclient to download the html from the page and insert it into that div's innerHtml. This seems to work the first time. But as soon as you click a different link, the page pukes and says something about it being in an illegal state.
I'm not sure if I'm going about this wrong, and I can't find any decent examples of how to do this. Well there's one, but the english is hard to understand and it's in VB instead of C#. Any help?
