I have a WPF UI called GUI.xaml and i need to change labels and images from other class. More over i need to perform a long task, so i'm using a background worker. So i've read a solution in this site:
In GUI.xaml.cs:

If you created the ImageSource on the background thread, make sure you freeze it so that it's accessible from any thread:

imageSource.Freeze();

How to suspend a thread by another thread in C#?

I've searched but seemed like I couldn't find the answer for my problem.
Currently, I'm writing a C# WPF app. This app will perform a heavy task in a long time. So I've decided to create another class with that heavy method and pass that method to another thread. I have to create a class to do that because the heavy method takes parameters.
I want the ability to suspend and resume that thread. I've known that I should use a ManualResetEvent object or Thread.Sleep method.
After many hours of trying and testing, getting confused why I always end up suspend the UI thread but the heavy thread is still running. What I've tried were:
Create a ManualResetEvent object called mre inside the HeavyClass. When user click the Pause button, the UI class will call the method heavyClass.mre.WaitOne().

As I said above, I always paused the UI thread and the heavy task is still running.
And finally in the end, I've known the essence of my problem. That is: which thread calls Thread.Sleep() or WaitOne() will be blocked. Yeah, "which thread", not "which class".
Everything makes sense for me now. But that doesn't help me to achieve my goal. And that leads me to think that I am doing the seemingly impossible thing. It's clearly that I want to pause a thread by another thread. But that another thread is the one who calls any kinds of "suspend thread", so it is the one who is suspended. I don't have any idea about how to make the heavy method to be suspended by itself. It is running, how the hell it could know when the user click the Pause button?
I am at a total loss. Someone please help me to make my app works as expected.
By the way, this impossible thing makes me think that I am doing things wrong way, is it?

To make a thread suspendable, the work in the thread must be separable. In your case md5.ComputeHash(stream) will do all the work, and there is not way to make sure that thread will suspend at a right(saft) point inside md5.ComputeHash(stream). So you have to rewrite HeavyClass like below. Please notice that those codes are not the best approach of handling a thread, and I just try to keep it as same as the original.

Subscribing to an event of a class that holds the override method of the class you reference

I am working with background workers to update a progress bar in a WPF UI I am working on. This background worker is getting its progress updates from multiple events that I am subscribed to, because the progress bar goes through several loading stages, and the percentages for those come from several places. here is some example/pseudo code explaining what I mean

Since I am clearly not explaining this well, I need to get info from the OrderProcessingFiles OnOrderProgress event via the OrderProcessing class that I create in the DoWork method.I am unsure on how to subscribe to an event when my code never directly instantiates an instance of the OrderProcessingFile class and it is never directly referred to.
I have tried looking for answers but as my title will show I am having a hard time even wording this in a way to get useful results, and I am genuinely stuck on this one. Let me know if more detail is needed, I tried to strip down my code to only the relevant parts but I feel like I'm explaining this strangely.
I would recommend that you create a thread safe singleton progress manager. Then have each of the background workers contact it with updates. The progress manager will use a DispatcherTimer (which runs on the GUI thread) to update the GUI appropriately.

C# multithreaded throbber form

Working on a C# project which I would like to implement a "waiting" (throbber) indicator in a separate form. After much research and trial and error it appears as the suggested method of doing this is to load a form using a separate thread from the one from the current form/thread.
The reason I went with this method was because initially using the Show() method on the throbber form produced a transparent form. I cannot use ShowDialog because I need to run some code after the throbber is displayed, after which that completes I would like to close the throbber form.
Anyway .. after trying many different methods to load the throbber form in a separate thread I still get an error about trying to access it from a thread which is different from the one it was created in. Here is a skelton version of the project code that should shed some light on my issue:

You are creating your ProgressBar twice. Once in your main function, and once in your new thread. You are also calling your CloseWindow method from your main function (and on the window that is never shown), rather than on your new thread window.
You only want to create ProgressBar and show it using your new thread. Make your static ProgressBar field public so you can call close on it directly from Main, but make sure to use Invoke to do it since it's not on that Window's GUI thread.
Also, ShowProgressBar should be static.

You should start your thread after creating it: t.Start() ;
You should also consider using the Task Parallel Library instead.
Oh, oh, I just noticed you want to pass a parameter. You can set a property in your SendImageToPlayer instance prior to starting the thread, or pass an object to the ReadImagefile function. But really, use the TPL, it's better.
Introduce a property FileName on your SendImageToPlayer class and set it before you start the thread.

Consider using the BackgroundWorker thread class. It provides events when the thread completes.
You check the ErrorCode when the RunWorkerCompleted event is fired.

Question on threading in C#

I have a Windows Forms application at the moment, and I want to create a new thread and run a method on another class that accepts an input.
For example

I am not an expert on Multithreading but to the best of my knowledge you can only start threads on methods that accept an object parameter and return void. So in order to achieve that for your problem (don't shoot me down if there is a better approach!) I would do something like
