Hi I am trying to create a RSS reader in visual C# express. I need to read the rss feed into a text box when the form loads. I have never worked with RSS feeds before and all the examples I have come across are done in visual studio and it seems that I cant use this:

Well your code is working as expected, since you are returning a List of RSSNews items, but you are assigning it to the textbox in a wrong way. Doing textBox1.Text = s.ToString(); will give System.Collections.Generic.List.... as a result.
Your method is reading RssNews items from the dataset and return around 23 items against the feed. You need to iterate through these items and display its text in the textbox, or better if you may use GridView or similar control to show these results.
You may try the following code in your Main method:

You should not try to access restricted paths in constrained environments (like Windows Phone).
Instead, if you really need to embed this file with your application, change the build action to Embedded Resource and to Do not copy for your xml file, and then retrieve the resource inside your code as an Embedded Resource:

You need to identify the node you are looking for, as SelectNodes returns a System.Xml.XmlNodeList, and then get the value of InnerText:

i know i could search proccessId / name of running tasks and kill processes i need .

Why use a winform application? A Console application would probably suffice for what you are doing. Once Main() ends your app will close as well. Main() never ends in a winform app because of the applications runloop.
Edit:
Here would be the correct way to do this. You need to register to the forms Load event and run your code there, not in the constructor. You can't close a winform from inside a constructor.

I have a multitable c# report based on a database I have created underneath using SQL. I am using the following code to try and set the datasource and have tried many different variations but cannot get the information from my database to show up properly in my report. Any help is greatly appreciated. The dataset is populating. Additionally the single table reports properly fill with data only the multitable reports aren't working.
UPDATE: The report now shows data from one table using report.Database.Tables["Invoices"].setDataSource(posDataSet.Tables["Invoices"]); However using the same logic on the table that generates the detail lines does not show any data.

Is it possible to write a simple and fast function in C# that will execute arbitrary methods from a string? For example, if I set MyString="MessageBox.Show("Some Message")" and then call ExecuteString(MyString), a message box would pop up with "Some Message" in it.
(I've probably made some sort of error in the above code. I don't yet know C#; I'm trying to evaluate whether it would be appropriate for a specific project.)
You should be able to use this and wrap the code required to run a string into a function.
Essentially what you're doing is wrapping the small bit of C# code in a Program.Mainstyle function, referencing some assemblies for basic functionality (maybe including your own assembly) then run the compiled program in memory.
It's likely a bit of more overhead than you need to simply run one or two lines of code mind you.

Alas, C# is not a dynamic language in that way. You can't really do this easily, and if it's really something you need to do, consider using a .Net language more in line with your needs, like IronPython or IronRuby.
