This is probably not possible, but I would like to create an interactive floor map where the offices are static but the person name keeps changing. The information must come from Active Directory, and the map must be displayed on SharePoint.
Is this possible? What do you suggest the best approach to solve the problem?
Do we need to develop a full SharePoint webpart? Is there something in the market?
Any input is truly welcomed.
Thanks You.

I've seen something similar with reporting services before but not using active directory as a data source, if you can dump AD to a database or access it similarly reporting services wouldn't be a terrible option. You would just set a jpg of a blank map as a background and place a 'table' with values on each individual desk/office, it was quite time consuming but it ended up working fairly well. And I'm sure MS has some sort of integration between reporting services and sharepoint.

I want to allow end users of my website to generate image of google map. How is this possible after the User has selected its location on google map and can then generate the image.
It's not allowed. See here:
https://developers.google.com/maps/faq#tos_screenshots
Use of Google Maps imagery in printed materials and offline media is
subject to the Permission Guidelines published at:
http://www.google.com/permissions/geoguidelines.html
you can request permission, but I don't think it's easy to obtain, unless you are a paying business customer.
Besides the "not allowed" part, there might be a way to let your users download the Google Map screen. However this will take some programming. Here is the basic idea:
When the users interact with the Google Map on your page, you can keep track of the used zoom and map boundaries as well as the selected location. With these values, you can use the Google Static Maps API to let your users download a static image.

Actually I am bit of confused right now and need some guidance. I have been offer a project to create web portal to generate report. Scenario is something like this,
Client has a business and he need to check the report of hourly sale. What should I do, should I put the SQL Server online or is there any other way to excess server database remotely. I have no experience in creating web portal, how should I start doing it.
Can anyone guide me in proper manner? I have experience in C#.NET using Visual Studio 2010.
Thanks.
This suggestion is without completely understanding your situation but...
There is an open source package called nopcommerce which has an inventory system, sales and other canned reports and a basic CMS built in.
It also includes all source code in C# and works with SQL Server.
It's generic enough to use for most retail scenarios and going this route will save you TONS of time trying to start from scratch.
I would think you could just download, install and customize and get 95% of everything you need from it.

We are programming a website which use UPS as shipping method. Administrator of the site must approve every order manually, create things propertly with UPS and then just get the tracking number and put it in our system. So we do not use any API from UPS or anything.
Is there a "static" URL like : http://ups.com/apage/{0} we may format to replace the {0} by the tracking number that the administrator will enter in our system?
I know I could search in google, but I'm not realy sure of what to write after UPS URL Tracking number didn't results me anything usefull.
You are required to use the UPS API when interacting with their system to either track packages or manage shipments. Any other use is in violation of their terms of service.
I don't know their terms of service as others have mentioned, but GMail just links to the following when it finds a tracking number in a message. I would assume you could use the same:
http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?TypeOfInquiryNumber=T&InquiryNumber1=TRACKINGNUMBER
I'm sure this could end up changing at some point down the road.

I am developing winform app that runs in two differen pc's
I want to create a replica and get the changes over the internet
How can i do that?
& how can I create replica and sync it using C#?
any ideas will be appreciated
I assume that you are talking about replicating changes in one ms-access "database" such that two instances stay in sync, As such, you'd be better off abandoning ms-access and upscaling to a single centralised database.
this sounds like a bad idea all around.
The common patterns apply;
use GUID id's,
send offline datasets,
cross fingers and look for a job that allows you to use other free tools, suited for the job http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/en/us/editions/express.aspx
Avoid conflict resolution (don't edit the same entities on both ends)
Edit
PS. after visiting hamsaweb.net; if you need this to be web deployable on a shared host:
How to deploy SQL CE 4 CTP to shared hosting?

i want the ability to create a UI designer (Winforms/WPF/UI/User interface type agnostic).
The requirment is that it should be possible to add properties to a device and it should automatically turn up in the UI.The addition of properties would be via a admin screen.
eg. there is a UI object called Order. It should be possible to add a property called ordersoomething to the order object from the admin screen and it should automatically reflect in the User interface.
i am looking for something that is already available (Open Source/existing stuff etc).
Edit based on a couple if comments.
What i mean by UI agnostic is that i am looking for a architectural pattern. That would fit well.it should not matter if it is Webforms or Silverlight or Winforms.

David Xavier
Since you tagged this C#, make sure you know about VS LightSwitch
There is a DevExpress Application Frameowrk, something called XAF, see the Developer Express website, it's not for free but not too expensive considering what you are asking, I am not sure if it only targets WindowForms...
