I am using report viewer control for reports. Now we are facing the problem in IE 11, Report not displaying in IE 11. Its showing only loading icon all time.
You are probably usign ReportViewer version 10 or below. Probably it craches in Chrome and Firefox too.
I don't know why by in this case if you inspect the network traffic in you prefered dev tools in the browser you will see that it try to download an image that is missing and it break the code.
To sove this problem you need to update your ReportViewer dlls to the version 11 (2012) at least and take into account some problems it can bring. They are these:
Microsoft.ReportViewer.Common.dll
Microsoft.ReportViewer.ProcessingObjectModel.dll
Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll
Is possible that after the update you will need to reference Microsoft.SqlServer.Types.dll too.
You will need to change your .config file too, basically changing the version number to 11.
To be clear, I didn't update it on the server but changed these dll to Copy To Local in Visual Studio so they are published togheter in the bin folder.
Please get in touch if you need further help. I lost a lot of time searching for this but can't remember all steps I did to solve.

May be this question has been asked many times before. But i went through all the related questions in stackoverflow , but couldn't find any satisfactory solution.
Well i'am writing a selenium automation code in VS2010 using C#, IE11 is my web browser on which i'am performing testing. Using IEDriverServer 32bit version in Windows 7 to open IE instance.
I already knew that there is some compatibility kind of issue between selenium and IE 11, but still my code worked fine up till now when i started getting this Error - " NoSuchWindowException was unhandled : Unable to find element on closed window."
Below are my steps:-
IWebDriver driver = new InternetExplorerDriver("D:\\");
driver.Navigate().GoToUrl("http://aiaw00572.belldev.dev.bce.ca:8060/UTM_MechHDTool_UserWebApp");
driver.FindElement(By.Id("ctl00_cpMainContent_radcboTaskType_Input"), 10).Click();
driver.FindElement(By.XPath("//div[#id='ctl00_cpMainContent_radcboTaskType_DropDown']/div/ul/li[2]")).Click(); (this step select a drop down option which performs a postback on the page)
driver.FindElement(By.Id("ctl00_cpMainContent_utmTaskGrid_ctl00_ctl06_imgbtnStartWorking")).Click();//Getting error on this step. Earlier i was not getting it anywhere
I searched for the solutions for this problem and came to know about one solution in which some registry change has to be done to solve it, though that also does not confirm that it will solve the problem. But the problem here i can't even check this solution as i don't have any administrator privilege in my system.
So just wanted to know if someone else has also faced the problem and came with some solution, so he/she can share it here please as i badly need a solution in here for this situation.
Worked for me after running IEDriverServer as admin or setting protected mode for all zones (https://stackoverflow.com/a/21373224/217408)
Error:
org.openqa.selenium.NoSuchWindowException: Unable to find element on closed window (WARNING: The server did not provide any stacktrace information)
Step1. Change Windows registry.
If you use Internet Explorer 11 x64 (64 bit),
create file ie11_win64.reg has content:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BFCACHE]
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000
Then run it.
If you use Internet Explorer 11 x86 (32 bit),
create file ie11_win32.reg has content:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BFCACHE]
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000
Then run it.
Step2. Setting in internet explorer. Uncheck all (or Check all, must be the same for zones: Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, Restricted sites)
For me the aswear was to download this registry file from http://heliumhq.com/docs/internet_explorer and to run it
In our case tests were based on Jbehave and Serenity. The First test always pass and second fails with mentioned exception. Opening new Webdriver instance for each scenario helps to resolve issue.
This question is NOT answered at the link above...
I had some problems with TFS where visual studio builds on the local machine no problem, but when I try to build on the server I get build errors. The errors are not relevant to this question.
The issue I have is that in order to fix the errors I had to manually edit some of the files on my local machine, and since they were manually edited, TFS doesn't detect the change so it wont let me upload my change set to the server which would have fixed the problems there.
My first, and main question is:
How can I force TFS to copy all my local files to the server. Sort of like the reverse of the whole:
Goto View / Other Windows / Source Control Explorer / Right click on the relevant project / Advanced / Get specific version / Check "Overwrite all files..." / Press ok.
Which (arguably, cause it doesn't always get everything in my experience) gets a full file set from the server to the local machine.
I am so tired of TFS uploading partial file sets and then when the solution is removed locally, and then re downloaded from the server, I have to pull in the missing files and references from some backup. If it was uploaded fully, and correctly at the start, I would probably have less of these problems. So this is my main question. How do I force TFS to upload all my files regardless if they have changed or not according to it.
To explain further a problem I am having in particular with nuget package manager. I disabled the option "Allow NuGet to download missing packages during build". So locally I got actual build errors. Yes that's right, Build errors. like this...
Project XXX: Package restore is disabled by default. To give consent,
open the Visual Studio Options dialog, click on Package Manager node
and check 'Allow NuGet to download missing packages during build.' You
can also give consent by setting the environment variable
'EnableNuGetPackageRestore' to 'true'.
Which now forces me to re-enable this option to get rid of the errors. I am annoyed at this because such errors should be presented as warnings so as not to prevent a build. This is seriously disappointing and as a result I have a very poor opinion of NuGet.
Anyways enough ranting, I re-enabled this, not like I had a choice. But the version where this was disabled went up to the server. Now I get this error on the server. I tried re-enabling it and doing a check in, but TFS wont let me. (Warning...No pending changes). Of course not, its just a silly check box. What could possibly have changed. But now I get an error on the server that I cannot fix all because someone at NuGet didn't put some taught into properly designing their warnings (as opposed to preventing a build by causing errors).
So, once again, how can I force TFS to take all my files, changed or unchanged, verbatim, to the server. This way, when I fix a problem locally, it "should" fix it also on the server. Or at least, when I next download it, I am assured to have the whole file set.
Apologies if this sounds like I am being negative, but I am at this for 5 solid days and it has completely stopped development costing me and the company a lot of money. Any help would be very much appreciated.
There is no way to tell TFS to take everything in my file system. What you need to do is a multistep process. First Check Out the entire directory, this will not overwrite your manual changes but will allow you to check back in and have it detect those changes. Second, if any new files were created you need to add at the root directory and get all new adds. Lastly check in all of your changes. It really should be that simple.
If you are using TFS 2012, then Local Workspaces would be a good solution for you.
Just to be clear - Local Workspaces does not mean that your developers are working locally. All code is still under Source Control in exactly the same way with Server Workspaces.
Local Workspaces are new to TFS 2012 and would resolve your issue. The main advantage for you is that files are no longer marked read-only. This allows you to be able to edit them from anywhere (notepad, any other IDE, Visual Studio) without first doing a checkout. Visual Studio will then automatically detect that the file has changed and list it in the Pending Changes window.
Good article comparing the different types of workspaces: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/willy-peter_schaub/archive/2011/11/30/team-foundation-server-trying-to-understand-server-versus-local-workspaces.aspx
I like to use the Source Control Explorer window, then right click on a folder and choose Compare. You can choose to see what is different in the target folder, or what is a new file. The files that are different appear in red. You can then right click on them and check out and check in files, or use control-click to select more than one file at time.
Yes i know before the flames start to arise, this is not conventional....but working in unity I encounter this problem quite often. Literally dealing with it now as i updated to unity 5.5 and it fubared a lot of stuff in my current project. After the resolutions from unity, my project is completely out of sync... and for whatever reason vis stu refuses to monitor these changes... It is rather annoying to be sure, but not to worry as I have resolved it successfully every time over the iterations by doing the following:
create a backup folder in a separate location and copy the entire thing over.
It doesn't matter where you back up to as long as its in a unique separate folder. Be sure to copy FOLDERS not individual FILES as some files may be hidden.
do a full get of the latest version (according to TFS).
This can take some time and is why you back it up in a separate location. Be sure to KEEP VS OPEN AT THIS POINT!!!
overwrite ALL the files you "got" with the backup that you made in step 1.
The local work-space will monitor the changes to the files as you overwrite them with the backed up copy into your local space, and mark them as having pending changes accordingly if the new one has any difference.
update your pending changes to the TFS server in source control explorer. Any change detected during the overwrite will be added to the included changes section.
Voila you have forced your files, work, and will onto the TFS server!
I recently cleaned up my Windows 7 64-bit PC, and after it ABCpdf8 started giving me an error, when I try to export HTML to PDF.
The error is "Failed to initiate IE compatibility mode: Failed to load all required assemblies."
at WebSupergoo.ABCpdf8.Internal.IECompatibility.Activate()
at line
theID = theDoc.AddImageUrl(input.Text);
of the test application, and I have no idea why, because I did not remove any assemblies from my machine.
If I run the compiled application on another workstation with the same config (Windows 7 64-bit), it works fine. Dependency Walker images showed no difference in DLLs sets from my machine and from another.
How else can I identify the source of the problem?
It is definitely neither a missing DLL, nor the user access to the system folders, because, I checked user rights as well, they're identical on both machines.
I assume that it might be a corrupted registry entry. Is there any way to quickly check the assumption?
It has to be said that, ABCpdf comes as third-party tool within another software, so I cannot contact support directly, but through the main vendor.
I had a similar problem with different behavior on w7 and ws2008, which was solved by using the Gecko engine
doc.HtmlOptions.Engine = EngineType.Gecko;
Note that websupergoo recommends using Gecko rather than IE9 as parts of the IE API it uses have been deprecated. (item 6.29)
When you 'cleaned' your system you may have erased the license key from the registry. Try re-installing your 'other software'.
I've been using Visual Studio to code my C# project for a while, everything is seem to be okay until today, I modified code from C# File Browser and use it in my project as component. After that I cannot change the Window Form icon (as same as I've done with others win form) when I browse the icon file Visual Studio become stop working. Moreover while I'm do the debugging with window form that have file browser, I try to test an function by browsing a file after I've browse a file VS also stop working. More and moreover sometime VS stop working by itself without any action by me. Anyone know where to seek for the cause or how to solve this.
I've solved the icon problem by using
this.Icon = new System.Drawing.Icon("icon.ico");
and set the properties of image:
Build Action: Content
Copy to output Directory: Always
after I've installed VS 2010 service pack 1 the icon problem can be solve, I can browse the icon file in properties but another fail on debugging still the same and I've got
exited with code -2147483645 (0x80000003).
which seem to be cause by the file browser library
I've recently had a lot of crashing going on also.
I was able to get my website solution functional again by deleting the Solution User Options files.
.suo files, under your profile ( OS dependent )
(My Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\solutionName for xp, unless you have your .sln someplace else.)
(NOTE: You right click a solution on the start page, and open Containing Folder.)
solutionName.sln.docstates.suo
is one of them. This cleared up the problem i was experiencing, but then caused other issues.
and
solutionName.suo
Do realize, this will lose ALL settings you have made for this solution.
However, it can clear things up.
I believe that once you get a crash, you can get garbage in these files.
In some cases, it may also be necessary to delete the .sln file itself.
As always, keep a copy of these files just in case...
I have an application developed with Asp.Net and C#. I have to display DWG - CAD files(stored in a server) in a client side browser. I cannot install Auto CAD or any other software or activeX control in my client side machines and it can be installed only on the server. Is there a way to achieve it?
I have tried the DWGViewX, but it was not able to display the image when accessed from a client. But when accessed from the server itself, am able to view the DWG file. I have just tried the trial version of DWGViewX. Is this issue because of the licensing issue?
ANy help in this regard will be greatly apprecited.

Vignesh
Have a look at CadLib. It has an ASP.NET example solution in the evaluation download. There's also a beta version for a Silverlight 4 edition (see the forum).
First, download the free DWG TrueView from Adobe and install it.
After that open Visual Studio (I use 2008) and open a new Windows Form Project.
Then switch to the form-designer.
There you open the toolbox and add a new tab "TrueView" or so.
After that rightclick and "Choose Items..."
--> wait a couple of seconds
--> then choose the tab "COM Components"
--> there you should find "Autodesk AcCtrl" mark it.
Now you have a component "Autodesk AcCtrl" in your "TrueView" Toolbox --> use it on the form.
and now, very simple, you need only one line of code in the Form1_Load function (generated through Visual Source) and put the following code in it:
axAcCtrl1.PutSourcePath(#"C:\WHERE\EVER\YOUR\DWG\FILE\IS\example.dwg");
Thats all!
Hope it helped!
If you want your end users, without having autocad or any compatable viewer for dwg files, then you need to convert dwg drawings to pdf or jpg. There are some libraries available in web to accomplish that. See the below url:
