I have Resharper 8.2 installed on my computer. I didn't shut down the computer from yesterday and Visual studio 2013 was kept open.
Yesterday, I had Resharper working fine and today, it's gone. I don't have the menu "Resharper" on the top and I don't have the tool at all.
So be it. I reinstalled Resharper from the exe file. Nothing.
I deleted Resharper, cleaned all the files and installed it once more. Nothing in VS 2013.
I also have Visual Studio 2010 and Resharper is here (I have the menu and the tools).
Am I the only one experiencing this "feature"? Does anyone know how to solve this?
I don't know what to try.

Setup: Visual Studio Pro 2019 16.8.4, SSIS installed. When I try to access Script Editor Window and update C# code, it does nothing. Never opens nor does it give me an error, it is unresponsive. - Someone else reported this to Microsoft, but there is no real answer yet (https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/1308953/unable-to-repair-visual-studio-tools-for-applicati.html)
I have tried running vsta_setup.exe from Control Panel, but when it tries to repair I get a warning message that it can not locate the latest vsta_setup.exe in C:\ drive. Microsoft's latest vsta_setup file is actually not compatible with VS 2019 16.8.4.
I've tried repairing VS 2019 from installer and I still can not open Script Task Editor when working with SSIS Packages. I'm puzzled why the latest VS Pro 2019 version doesn't have the necessary repair tools to help troubleshoot and fix this issue.
This is what I did to solve it, hopefully it helps you. My answer is also posted on Microsoft Community link and it contains the latest vsta_setup.exe version 16.0.29425 (https://developercommunity.visualstudio.com/content/problem/1308953/unable-to-repair-visual-studio-tools-for-applicati.html)
I have Visual Studio Pro 2019 16.8.4 and VSTA from Script Task Editor would not open, unresponsive, no error message. I tried repairing Visual Studio; Repairing Data Tools for SSIS; and even tried repairing VSTA from Control Panel but none of that worked. The one error I did get from trying to repair VSTA from control panel, was the the vsta_setup.exe was not available or outdated. ** The solution in order to get the latest vsta_setup.exe** for me was opening up Windows Explorer going into C:\ drive and searched for "vsta_setup.exe" took a while. Several options came up, I hovered on each vsta_setup.exe and finally found the set up file matching what control panel had for Visual Studio 2019; "Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2019 version 16.0.29425". I copied the file I found through the search and ran set up a couple times and it's now working
I have to maintain a C# project built in VS 2005 (.NET 2.0), but when I put a breakpoint in specific line during debug, something strange happens:
I have found that Resharper could cause those kind of "problems", but its licence has been expired from more than six months.
Finally, I solved the issue uninstalling completely resharper from my laptop.
Here is the reference link (for me, point 2 worked):

To completely remove ReSharper Ultimate tools from Visual Studio,
please try the following:
Run ReSharper Ultimate installer once again - do you have any products with status Repair? If so, please select Remove for them and
select Skip for others.
If there are no items with Repair action, please remove the following folder manually
%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\VisualStudio{Visual Studio
version}\Extensions\JetBrains
If Visual Studio still thinks ReSharper is installed, try deleting the following Windows Registry branch
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio{VS version}_Config
I don't know why all of a sudden my VS 2015 stopped showing Templates list even if i try to open a old project with VS 2015 it doesn't shows anything.
Tried uninstalling and installing VS 2015 again, still no luck.
Kindly help me to fix this...
I have visual studio 2015 and InstallShield LE.
Everything was fine and suddenly I get "Incompatible" problem. "The application is not installed".
I was trying to reinstall the installsheild and it didnt help.
when i do right click on the project i click on "Reload project" and get this message:

Probably not what you want to hear, but do yourself a favour and uninstall it as fast as possible! It's an awful piece of software, full of bugs, pathetic or non-existent support, and a steep price if you are dumb enough to want to buy it!
This is the voice of bitter experience, backed up the opinions of a lot of other people who found the same thing.
I use Inno Setup, which is free, simple, is supported and works really nicely. Since discovering it, I've not had any problems.
I'm using Visual Studio 2015 and the same problem is also occurring with Visual Studio 2010. Basically, when I press F5, Visual studio attempts to run and debug the project, it then plays the "Exclamation" sound like one from a message box; and then it stops debugging the project. Nothing is said in my output window, it's as if nothing happened. I've looked everywhere on the internet but I haven't found anything!
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
It sounds like you might have a corrupt install. I would suggest trying to repair the installation.
