How to check mapped network drive if exist by hostname C# - c#

I have a problem in my code C#. I can not check mapped network drive if exist by host name. I can check by ip address with ping function. But actual problem is not ip address. I need to check a hostname.
Ping ping = new Ping();
var reply = ping.Send("ADS-201");
if (reply.Status == IPStatus.Success) {
NetworkDrive oNetDrive = new NetworkDrive();
oNetDrive.LocalDrive = "Z:";
oNetDrive.ShareName = "\\\\ADS-201\\fileserver\\public";
oNetDrive.MapDrive();
}

This was an answer: My friend figure it out, I am just sharing who needs it.
var searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher(
"root\\CIMV2",
"SELECT * FROM Win32_MappedLogicalDisk");
List<string> gunler = new List<string>();
try
{
while (true)
{
Thread.Sleep(60 * 1 * 100);
gunler.Clear();
foreach (ManagementObject queryObj in searcher.Get())
{
gunler.Add(queryObj["ProviderName"].ToString().Substring(2,7));
//MessageBox.Show("Caption: " + queryObj["ProviderName"] + " ---" + queryObj["FileSystem"]);
}
// Console.WriteLine("*** calling MyMethod *** ");
IPAddress ip = IPAddress.Parse("192.168.1.123");
//IPAddress hostn = IPAddress.Parse("ADS-201");
Ping ping = new Ping();
var reply = ping.Send(ip);
// var hosreply = ping.Send(hostn);
if (reply.Status == IPStatus.Success)
{
if (gunler.Contains("ads-201") || gunler.Contains("ADS-201"))
{
MessageBox.Show("ADS-201 is exist");
}
else
{
MessageBox.Show("ADS-201 does not exist!");
}
}
else
{
MessageBox.Show("No ping to hostname!");
}
// yuor_method();
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
}

some problems about modify IP address with System.Management(WMI)

I want to know the meaning of "ManagementObject" returnValue, such as '2147947410'.
Does C# have any other options to modify IP address, except through WMI?
How to prevent windows change IP address to 169.254.XXX, when it detect IP conflict?
Before run the code, I modify one network's IP address to 192.168.1.66(not my targe network). [Fig.1]
Then run the code , it would not throw any exceptions, outPar["returnValue"] returns value 2147947410, but if I open target network's opions, the IP address is blank! [Fig.2]
And, if type "ipconfig" in CMD, I will see the target network's IP is 169.254.XXX. I know that means "ip conflict". [Fig.2]
Below is the code.
static void Main(string[] args)
{
// Run Code in Admin mode.
ManagementBaseObject inPar = null;
ManagementBaseObject outPar = null;
ManagementClass mc = new ManagementClass("Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration");
ManagementObjectCollection moc = mc.GetInstances();
foreach (ManagementObject mo in moc)
{
if (!(bool)mo["IPEnabled"])
continue;
string[] addresses = (string[])mo["IPAddress"];
Console.WriteLine("开始修改");
try
{
//设置ip地址和子网掩码
inPar = mo.GetMethodParameters("EnableStatic");
inPar["IPAddress"] = new string[] { "192.168.1.66" };
inPar["SubnetMask"] = new string[] { "255.255.255.0" };
outPar = mo.InvokeMethod("EnableStatic", inPar, null);
Console.WriteLine(outPar["returnValue"]);
//设置网关地址
inPar = mo.GetMethodParameters("SetGateways");
inPar["DefaultIPGateway"] = new string[] { "0.0.0.0" };
outPar = mo.InvokeMethod("SetGateways", inPar, null);
}
catch (Exception e)
{
throw e;
}
//设置DNS
inPar = mo.GetMethodParameters("SetDNSServerSearchOrder");
inPar["DNSServerSearchOrder"] = new string[] { "0.0.0.0" };
outPar = mo.InvokeMethod("SetDNSServerSearchOrder", inPar, null);
break;
}
Console.ReadLine();
}

C# console app (WMI query) suddenly fills the memory

I have a C# application which creates a CimSession or a ManagementScope connection and queries the "PercentProcessorTime" parallel on dozens of remote PCs in every second.
Usually the app is working fine for a couple of hours and then suddenly starts filling up the memory. The RAM usage from the average 100MB jumps so 4-5GB in an hour.
I am unable to find out what is happening here.
Here are the two method which are running in every seconds:
public static bool DumpProcessesCpu(string hostname)
{
bool overTreshold = false;
try
{
CimSessionOptions sessionOptions = new CimSessionOptions() { Timeout = TimeSpan.FromSeconds(5) };
using (CimSession mySession = CimSession.Create(hostname, sessionOptions))
{
string Namespace = #"root\cimv2";
IEnumerable<CimInstance> queryInstance = mySession.QueryInstances(Namespace, "WQL", queryString);
foreach (CimInstance cimInstance in queryInstance)
{
int currentValue = Convert.ToInt32(cimInstance.CimInstanceProperties["PercentProcessorTime"].Value);
if (showLiveData == "true") Log.Debug("{0} - {1}", hostname, currentValue.ToString());
if (currentValue >= treshold)
{
overTreshold = true;
}
}
}
}
catch (SystemException e)
{
Log.Error("An error occurred while querying for WMI data for " + hostname + ": " + e.Message);
}
return overTreshold;
}
and
public static bool DumpProcessesCpuLegacy(string hostname)
{
bool overTreshold = false;
try
{
ConnectionOptions options = new ConnectionOptions() { Timeout = TimeSpan.FromSeconds(5) };
ObjectQuery query = new ObjectQuery(queryString);
ManagementScope scope = new ManagementScope(#"\\" + hostname + #"\root\cimv2", options);
using (ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher(scope, query))
{
foreach (ManagementObject queryObj in searcher.Get())
{
int currentValue = Convert.ToInt32("" + queryObj["PercentProcessorTime"]);
if (showLiveData == "true") Log.Debug("{0} - {1}", hostname, currentValue.ToString());
if (currentValue >= treshold)
{
overTreshold = true;
}
}
}
}
catch (ManagementException e)
{
Log.Error("An error occurred while querying for WMI data for " + hostname + ": " + e.Message);
}
return overTreshold;
}
I am using Parallel.Foreach to run one of these methods on every remote PC in every second.
I am using extensive logging and try-catch everywhere and there are no error messages.
What could be the problem here? Where should I continue the investigation?
Thank you

c# Cross-Platform device information from local network from lan scan

I have currently wrote a code which scans the local network with a function called "bool ping()". I want to add a capability to provide basic device information when the function returns 'true'. I've found 'ManagementObjectSearcher'.
At first it looked perfect but when It gets used for a non-windows device it crash. Therefore I suppose that this method cannot be used for non-windows devices.
As I want to add the below code ( or login , after enough polishing ), to an android app that scans the local network and returns the
A) IP address and
B) (one of the following )
the device type ( desktop , laptop , smartphone)
and/or
the OS type ( android , windows , linux , tvOS )
Is there a valid way I can do what I am looking for? I believe I have experienced apps that do stuff like that, though I don't know what language they were based on.
namespace LanConsole
{
class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{
string host = "192.168.1.10"; // android smartphone IP
string temp = null;
// arguments I found
string[] _searchClass = { "Win32_ComputerSystem", "Win32_OperatingSystem", "Win32_BaseBoard", "Win32_BIOS" };
string[] param = { "UserName", "Caption", "Product", "Description" };
bool v = ping(host, 10, 900); // bool function send ping to host
if (v == true)
{
Console.WriteLine("true");
for (int i = 0; i <= _searchClass.Length - 1; i++)
{
ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher("\\\\" + host + "\\root\\CIMV2", "SELECT *FROM " + _searchClass[i]);
foreach (ManagementObject obj in searcher.Get())
{
temp += obj.GetPropertyValue(param[i]).ToString() + "\n";
if (i == _searchClass.Length - 1)
{
Console.WriteLine(temp, "Hostinfo: " + host);
break;
}
}
Console.WriteLine("");
}
}
else
Console.WriteLine("false");
}
public static bool ping(string host, int attempts, int timeout)
{
System.Net.NetworkInformation.Ping ping = new System.Net.NetworkInformation.Ping();
System.Net.NetworkInformation.PingReply pingReply;
for (int i = 0; i < attempts; i++)
{
try
{
pingReply = ping.Send(host, timeout);
// If there is a successful ping, return true.
if (pingReply != null &&
pingReply.Status == System.Net.NetworkInformation.IPStatus.Success)
{
return true;
}
}
catch
{
// supressing errors
}
}
// Return false if ping fales "attempts" times
return false;
}
}
}

Write to USB PORT C# using LibUsbDotNet C# USB Library

I want to write some data to a USB port and receive an answer from it.
I actually used the same
string cmdLine = "#00WD3000C82B*\r";
and sent it to the same machine with the SerialPort object and by using rs235 port.
its do well.. and I got the right answer
using these methods:
omronAX.WriteAction("3000", 200.ToString("0000"));
public void WriteAction(string DM_address, string Data)
{
write_action(DM_address, Data);
}
private void write_action(string DM_address, string Data)
{
GotData = "";
Puredata = "";
EndCode = "";
try
{
int ErCd = Write_2_port("WD", DM_address, Data);
if (ErCd != 0) { return; }
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);
}
}
private int Write_2_port(string cod_cmd, string Addr, string Data2write)
{
DReady = false;
out_data = "";
end_c = "";
char cr = Convert.ToChar(13);
string cmd = "", Dat1 = "", Dat2 = "";
Mess = "";
Dat2 = Data2write;
if (Addr.Trim().Length > 0)
{
try
{
Dat1 = String.Format("{0:0000}", Convert.ToInt16(Addr));
}
catch (FormatException ex)
{
Mess = ex.Message;
return 1;
}
catch (OverflowException ex1)
{
Mess = ex1.Message;
return 3;
}
}
int.TryParse(Dat2, out int hex);
string hexValue = hex.ToString("X");
cmd = "#" + BakN + cod_cmd + Dat1 + hexValue ;
string send2port = cmd + Checksm(cmd) + "*" + cr;
SentCommand = send2port;
try
{
// if (Sport.IsOpen == false) { Sport.Open(); }
locking = true;
Sport.WriteTimeout = 5000;
Sport.WriteLine(send2port);
int i = 0;
while (locking)
{
if (i++ == 500)
{
throw new TimeoutException("יתכן שיש בעיות תקשורת עם המערכת.");
}
Thread.Sleep(10);
}

}
catch (Exception ex)
{

for the next code, I try using USB port and write to it the same line...
But I got nothing when I read the answer back and I got (bytesRead = 0)
in my bytesWritten, I got 15...

I have no idea and I am doing wrong, thanks.
I recommend using Usb.Net (https://github.com/MelbourneDeveloper/Device.Net) instead of LibUsb. The problem with LibUsb is that is just wraps WinUSB calls. So, you are deploying an extra C dll (LibUsb) that just points to an existing Windows C DLL. LibUsb is good if you want to keep the code cross platform with Linux, but otherwise, there's not much point.
Here is sample WinUsb code (https://github.com/MelbourneDeveloper/Device.Net/blob/master/src/Usb.Net/Windows/WindowsUsbDevice.cs)
public override Task InitializeAsync()
{
Dispose();
int errorCode;
if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(DeviceId))
{
throw new WindowsException($"{nameof(DeviceDefinition)} must be specified before {nameof(InitializeAsync)} can be called.");
}
_DeviceHandle = APICalls.CreateFile(DeviceId, (APICalls.GenericWrite | APICalls.GenericRead), APICalls.FileShareRead | APICalls.FileShareWrite, IntPtr.Zero, APICalls.OpenExisting, APICalls.FileAttributeNormal | APICalls.FileFlagOverlapped, IntPtr.Zero);
if (_DeviceHandle.IsInvalid)
{
//TODO: is error code useful here?
errorCode = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error();
if (errorCode > 0) throw new Exception($"Device handle no good. Error code: {errorCode}");
}
var isSuccess = WinUsbApiCalls.WinUsb_Initialize(_DeviceHandle, out var defaultInterfaceHandle);
HandleError(isSuccess, "Couldn't initialize device");
var bufferLength = (uint)Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(USB_DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR));
isSuccess = WinUsbApiCalls.WinUsb_GetDescriptor(defaultInterfaceHandle, WinUsbApiCalls.DEFAULT_DESCRIPTOR_TYPE, 0, 0, out _UsbDeviceDescriptor, bufferLength, out var lengthTransferred);
HandleError(isSuccess, "Couldn't get device descriptor");
byte i = 0;
//Get the first (default) interface
var defaultInterface = GetInterface(defaultInterfaceHandle);
_UsbInterfaces.Add(defaultInterface);
while (true)
{
isSuccess = WinUsbApiCalls.WinUsb_GetAssociatedInterface(defaultInterfaceHandle, i, out var interfacePointer);
if (!isSuccess)
{
errorCode = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error();
if (errorCode == APICalls.ERROR_NO_MORE_ITEMS) break;
throw new Exception($"Could not enumerate interfaces for device {DeviceId}. Error code: { errorCode}");
}
var associatedInterface = GetInterface(interfacePointer);
_UsbInterfaces.Add(associatedInterface);
i++;
}
IsInitialized = true;
RaiseConnected();
return Task.CompletedTask;
}
However, I did submit this sample to LibUsbDotNet and it's now the accepted Read/Write sample there (https://github.com/LibUsbDotNet/LibUsbDotNet/blob/master/src/Examples/Read.Write/ReadWrite.cs):
public static void Main(string[] args)
{
using (var context = new UsbContext())
{
context.SetDebugLevel(LogLevel.Info);
//Get a list of all connected devices
var usbDeviceCollection = context.List();
//Narrow down the device by vendor and pid
var selectedDevice = usbDeviceCollection.FirstOrDefault(d => d.ProductId == ProductId && d.VendorId == VendorId);
//Open the device
selectedDevice.Open();
//Get the first config number of the interface
selectedDevice.ClaimInterface(selectedDevice.Configs[0].Interfaces[0].Number);
//Open up the endpoints
var writeEndpoint = selectedDevice.OpenEndpointWriter(WriteEndpointID.Ep01);
var readEnpoint = selectedDevice.OpenEndpointReader(ReadEndpointID.Ep01);
//Create a buffer with some data in it
var buffer = new byte[64];
buffer[0] = 0x3f;
buffer[1] = 0x23;
buffer[2] = 0x23;
//Write three bytes
writeEndpoint.Write(buffer, 3000, out var bytesWritten);
var readBuffer = new byte[64];
//Read some data
readEnpoint.Read(readBuffer, 3000, out var readBytes);
}
}
I had an issue getting my device to connect with another library because I was using upper case for alphabetic characters in the VID/PID. Have you tried using lower case ("0x005b" instead of "0x005B")?
