Is it possible to call an exe from a MVC site?
I've seen this link. (I'll try it tomorrow in the morning when I get in the office)
Stackoverflow link
However I wanted to know if I cam barking up the wrong tree.
I have a 3rd party app that provides us a stand alone exe. Instead of sending this exe to x amount of clients. I would like to keep that exe on my web server so I can control who can use the exe.
Is this is viable option?.

You might find the responses to this old question helpful. If you are trying to run an exe file within your application, I think this would be the approach to take.
If I have understood your question wrong, and you are trying to provide users with a link to download an application, or a link to launch an application that already exists on their computer, then you will probably want to look into the html <href> tag.

I have to create a form for a task that is done by multiple people at the company I work for. Due to the circumstances, I have choosen Windows Forms and C# to make it. However, I'm not sure how I'm going to make the program available to my colleagues.
In Python, I use PyInstaller to create a .exe file and distribute my programs in a way that no one needs to install a Python interpreter to use it. Is there anything similar for C#?
Right click project and choose publish.
There’s a lot of tutorials about it.

I have specific trouble: I'm using Yandex.Disk cloud storage and working with this by Yandex.Disk REST API. I have some functionality for syncing data and saving to db. Specially it's file name, file md5, file download url. But trouble is that download url is temporary. And I'm looking for solution, to have ability for apdating download url for all saved in db files, each 24 hours. First solution I found is another project that will be launching by windows task scheduler, but my hosting provider not giving this ability. Help me please to find good solution for this.
You can probably use hangfire http://hangfire.io/ to create a recurring task within your ASP.NET application.

When you send an application to someone, using another computer, besides the application itself, do I have to send the Resources File too? And if I am using a DataBase do I have to send the Database.mdf file too? And what else would you have to send to make sure your application works on another computers?
Sorry if this question is a repeated one, but most of the others just ask for a single item, either the Resources or something else. But I would like to know about everything you have to send.
Thanks a lot !
it depends on your approach. i think you have a software with database and... that you want to sell and make it owrk on other users device. you can make you app make a new database on first start. you can include database files if its local and add to user app directory and... it all depends on you packaging method and tool.
or maybe you want let someone continue the project. so you can give other developer a back up .bak format or export database files from sql server management studio and other developer can attach them to the other machine project

I know this is a difficult issue, but I'm asked to build an application that allows users to scan pages (from an Automatic Document Feeder) , and upload them into an FTP server. And I should integrate this into a PHP web application.
Any programming language will work, I just want to know how.
I have found a C# library called WIA. Is it the best option I have ?
Can I build a browser application (with Flash or Java) that can interact with the scanner ?
Thanks !
Perhaps you can check out the following sourceforge project called phpSANE.http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpsane/
Essentially need to setup and use SANE to work with your scanner. You can then use or modify (cause it's open source) phpSANE running on your web server which will then pick up the files and save them to an FTP server.
I'm not sure how you might automatically detect documents put into the Automatic Document Feeder, perhaps there is a way SANE is notified and you can get this use this to call a PH script?

Lets assume that we have developed and shipped an application to many customers. We would like to add new screens to that application without removing and re-installing from customers computers the entire application. We just want to send a DLL or an EXE file to the customer, then they will put that file and place it to application folder. Then application will find and recognize that DLL or EXE and let user use that WinForm?
How can I do that? Would you please give me an idea?
professional and complete solution is MEF if you want something simple, you could use something like Assembly.LoadFrom(filePath) and iterate types in it. check for if the type is derived from System.Windows.Forms.Form (you should use typeof(Form).IsAssignableFrom(loadedType))
This problem is why web-applications are so popular. A single install for everyone. Change without re-installing in multiple locations.
This problem is why SAAS exists. The true solution to this problem is get off the winform-gui model.
Think bigger!
