HttpWebRequest return error 500 when GetResponse() - c#

I'm trying to get a response from SOAP webservice, but I'm falling into a webexception Error 500.
This my class to get a response:
public static string getResponse()
{
StringBuilder xml = new StringBuilder();
//xml.Append(#"<?xml version=""1.0"" encoding=""utf-8""?>");
xml.Append(#"<soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv=""http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"" xmlns:br=""http://www.totvs.com.br/br/"" >").Replace(#"\", "");
xml.Append("<soap:Envelope/>");
xml.Append("<soapenv:Body>");
xml.Append("<br:RealizarConsultaSQLAuth>");
xml.Append("<br:codSentenca>GLOBAL_054</br:codSentenca>");
xml.Append("<br:codColigada>0</br:codColigada>");
xml.Append("<br:codAplicacao>V</br:codAplicacao>");
xml.Append("<br:Usuario>xxxx</br:Usuario>");
xml.Append("<br:Senha>xxxx</br:Senha>");
xml.Append("<br:parameters>codcoligada=1;codsistema=V;codusuario=mestre</br:parameters>");
xml.Append("</br:RealizarConsultaSQLAuth>");
xml.Append("</soapenv:Body>");
xml.Append("</soapenv:Envelope>");
string s = getUKMailData(xml.ToString(), "http://xxx.xxxx.com.br:99/xxxx/wsConsultaSQL.asmx");
return s;
}
public static string getUKMailData(string xml, string address)
{
string result = "";
HttpWebRequest request = CreateWebRequest(address);
XmlDocument soapEnvelopeXml = new XmlDocument();
string teste = xml.Replace(#"\", "");
soapEnvelopeXml.LoadXml(teste);
try
{
using (Stream stream = request.GetRequestStream())
{
soapEnvelopeXml.Save(stream);
}
using (WebResponse response = request.GetResponse())
{
using (StreamReader rd = new StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream()))
{
string soapResult = rd.ReadToEnd();
result = soapResult;
}
}
}
catch (WebException wex)
{
var pageContent = new StreamReader(wex.Response.GetResponseStream()).ReadToEnd();
}
return result;
}
public static HttpWebRequest CreateWebRequest(string url)
{
HttpWebRequest webRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);
webRequest.Headers.Add("SOAP:Action");
webRequest.Headers.Add("username", "xxx");
webRequest.Headers.Add("password", "xxx");
// webRequest.ContentType = "text/xml;charset=\"utf-8\"";
webRequest.Accept = "text/xml";
webRequest.Method = "POST";
webRequest.PreAuthenticate = true;
webRequest.Credentials = CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
return webRequest;
}
anyone can help me? I already read a series of articles that unfortunately did not help me. Thanks a lot!

Your request maybe true but server-side doesn't know how to process your data. Maybe parameters which are sent fault. Please check your server-side so end-point.

Login into iCloud via Json Post request

I'm trying to log in into iCloud using a Json Post request in C#. Before trying to implement the code I was studying a little bit the iCloud requests using Chrome Console and using an Ad-on to replicate the requests in order to obtain the same result of the website.
First of All I checked the request directly from iCloud website:
And this is the response:
{
"serviceErrors" : [ {
"code" : "-20101",
"message" : "Il tuo IDĀ Apple o la password non sono corretti."
} ]
}
Using "Advance REST Client" ad Chrome plugin to replicate the request I ve tried the same Json request to the same Url. But I get Empty response:
I Also tried to copy and paste the whole Header (All the settings) and than send the request but the response is the same:
Anyone has an Advice?
UPDATE: I tried to implement A Json request through c# program:
var httpWebRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("https://idmsa.apple.com/appleauth/auth/signin");
httpWebRequest.ContentType = "application/json";
httpWebRequest.Method = "POST";
using (var streamWriter = new StreamWriter(httpWebRequest.GetRequestStream()))
{
string json = "{accountName: \"briesanji #gmail.com\", password: \"testPassword\", rememberMe: false, trustTokens: []}";
streamWriter.Write(json);
streamWriter.Flush();
streamWriter.Close();
}
var httpResponse = (HttpWebResponse)httpWebRequest.GetResponse();
using (var streamReader = new StreamReader(httpResponse.GetResponseStream()))
{
var result = streamReader.ReadToEnd();
}
The problem is that Execution breaks when the
var httpResponse = (HttpWebResponse)httpWebRequest.GetResponse();
is hit and it gives me this error: System.Net.WebException: 'Error Remote Server: (400) Request not valid.'
UPDATE: I solved in this way:
void POST(string url, string jsonContent)
{
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);
request.Method = "POST";
System.Text.UTF8Encoding encoding = new System.Text.UTF8Encoding();
Byte[] byteArray = encoding.GetBytes(jsonContent);
request.ContentLength = byteArray.Length;
request.ContentType = #"application/json";
using (Stream dataStream = request.GetRequestStream())
{
dataStream.Write(byteArray, 0, byteArray.Length);
}
long length = 0;
try
{
using (HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse())
{
length = response.ContentLength;
}
}
catch (WebException ex)
{
// Log exception and throw as for GET example above
}
}
string GET(string url)
{
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);
try
{
WebResponse response = request.GetResponse();
using (Stream responseStream = response.GetResponseStream())
{
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(responseStream, Encoding.UTF8);
return reader.ReadToEnd();
}
}
catch (WebException ex)
{
WebResponse errorResponse = ex.Response;
using (Stream responseStream = errorResponse.GetResponseStream())
{
StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(responseStream, Encoding.GetEncoding("utf-8"));
String errorText = reader.ReadToEnd();
// log errorText
}
throw;
}
}
Anyways I tested also the Answer and it was good to.. So I check it as valid thanks.
With this i dont get any error and the response content of the second request just tells me that there were too many failed logins for the test account...

C# Ebay API Post-Order check_eligibility using HttpWebRequest

I'm trying to use the check_eligibility call from the eBay Post-Order API in C# very unsuccessfully. Every time I get a bad response. Here is one way I've tried:
string url = "https://api.ebay.com/post-order/v2/cancellation/check_eligibility";
HttpWebRequest cancelOrderRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);
cancelOrderRequest.Headers.Add("Authorization", "TOKEN " + AuthToken);
cancelOrderRequest.ContentType = "application/json";
cancelOrderRequest.Accept = "application/json";
cancelOrderRequest.Headers.Add("X-EBAY-C-MARKETPLACE-ID", "EBAY_US");
cancelOrderRequest.Headers.Add("legacyOrderId", ebayFullOrderId);
cancelOrderRequest.Method = "POST";
HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)cancelOrderRequest.GetResponse();
And here is another way I've tried:
string url = "https://api.ebay.com/post-order/v2/cancellation/check_eligibility";
var httpWebRequest = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url);
httpWebRequest.ContentType = "application/json";
httpWebRequest.Method = "POST";
httpWebRequest.Headers.Add("Authorization", "TOKEN " + AuthToken);
httpWebRequest.Headers.Add("X-EBAY-C-MARKETPLACE-ID", "EBAY_US");
httpWebRequest.Accept = "application/json";
using (var streamWriter = new StreamWriter(httpWebRequest.GetRequestStream()))
{
string json = "{\"legacyOrderId\":\"###-###\"";
streamWriter.Write(json);
streamWriter.Flush();
streamWriter.Close();
}
var httpResponse = (HttpWebResponse)httpWebRequest.GetResponse();
using (var streamReader = new StreamReader(httpResponse.GetResponseStream()))
{
var result = streamReader.ReadToEnd();
}
Regardless of which way I try both came back with the same message, "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request." If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
My second code example ended up being the correct way to solve my problem. What I realized was my json was slightly off. I was missing the extra } at the end. The below updated json syntax fixed my problem going with the code from my second example.
var json = "{\"legacyOrderId\":\"" + ebayFullOrderId + "\"}";
Please try this code:
private void MakeRequests()
{
HttpWebResponse response;
if (RequestEbay(out response))
{
response.Close();
}
}
private bool RequestEbay(out HttpWebResponse response)
{
response = null;
try
{
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("https://api.ebay.com/ws/api.dll");
request.Headers.Add("X-EBAY-API-SITEID", #"0");
request.Headers.Add("X-EBAY-API-COMPATIBILITY-LEVEL", #"967");
request.Headers.Add("X-EBAY-API-CALL-NAME", #"GetOrders");
request.Method = "POST";
request.ServicePoint.Expect100Continue = false;
string body = #"<?xml version=""1.0"" encoding=""utf-8""?>
<GetOrdersRequest xmlns=""urn:ebay:apis:eBLBaseComponents"">
<RequesterCredentials>
<eBayAuthToken>!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YOUR EBAY TOKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1</eBayAuthToken>
</RequesterCredentials>
<ErrorLanguage>en_US</ErrorLanguage>

<CreateTimeTo>2017-12-15T19:09:02.768Z</CreateTimeTo>
<OrderRole>Seller</OrderRole>
</GetOrdersRequest>";
byte[] postBytes = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(body);
request.ContentLength = postBytes.Length;
Stream stream = request.GetRequestStream();
stream.Write(postBytes, 0, postBytes.Length);
stream.Close();
response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse();
}
catch (WebException e)
{
if (e.Status == WebExceptionStatus.ProtocolError) response = (HttpWebResponse)e.Response;
else return false;
}
catch (Exception)
{
if(response != null) response.Close();
return false;
}
return true;
}

Error 500: illegal characters in path

I am trying to post some data to an EndPoint, resulting in response - illegal characters in path
RootDTO = the DTO structure, I pasted the example XML to this site
So I believe it's not the problem.
Am I doing something wrong?
private Boolean ApiRequest(string order, string path)
{
var t = string.Empty;
var Obj_response = new RootDTO();
byte[] requestData = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(order);
HttpWebRequest req = WebRequest.Create(new Uri(path)) as HttpWebRequest;
req.Method = "POST";
req.Accept = "application/xml";
req.ContentType = "application/xml; charset=utf-8";
req.ContentLength = requestData.Length;
using (Stream post = req.GetRequestStream())
{
post.Write(requestData, 0, requestData.Length);
}
try
{
//XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(RootDTO));
using (HttpWebResponse resp = req.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse)
{
string resJson = string.Empty;
if (resp.StatusCode == HttpStatusCode.OK)
{
var ms = new StreamReader(resp.GetResponseStream(), UTF8Encoding.UTF8);
t = ms.ReadToEnd(); // <-----t contains "illegal characters in path"
return true;
}
else
{ // error occured?
return false;
}
}
}
catch (WebException ex)
{
// error during APIrequest
var resp = new StreamReader(ex.Response.GetResponseStream()).ReadToEnd();
}
return false;
}
The answer was easy to solve - there were a problem in the XML
the thing that cause the problem was:
<url>
http://www.domain.com
</url>
I changed it to:
<url>http://www.domain.com</url>
that fixed it.

How to capture a response token sent by a REST API after a request?

I am working on consuming a REST API and I am using basic authentication where password is encoded to Base64 as follows
private XmlDocument sendXMLRequest(string requestXml)
{
string destinationUrl = "https://serviceapi.testgroup.com/testtp/query";
HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(destinationUrl);
request.Headers["Authorization"] = "Basic " + Convert.ToBase64String(Encoding.Default.GetBytes("API_TEST_NR:Testnol1$"));
byte[] bytes;
bytes = System.Text.Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(requestXml);
request.Method = "POST";
request.ContentLength = bytes.Length;
//request.Connection = "keep-alive";
request.ContentType = "text/xml";
request.KeepAlive = true;
request.Timeout = 2000;
request.MediaType = "text/xml";
Stream requestStream = request.GetRequestStream();
requestStream.Write(bytes, 0, bytes.Length);
requestStream.Close();
HttpWebResponse response;
Stream responseStream;
using (response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse())
{
if (response.StatusCode == HttpStatusCode.OK)
{
responseStream = response.GetResponseStream();
XmlReader reader = new XmlTextReader(responseStream);
XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
xmlDoc.Load(reader);
try { reader.Close(); }
catch { }
try { responseStream.Close(); }
catch { }
try { response.Close(); }
catch { }
return xmlDoc;
}
}
try { response.Close(); }
catch { }
return null;
}
I'm kind of new to working on Web Api's and I know that the API responds with an access x-token after successful authorization based on the API documentaion and I am not sure how to access or capture it from the HTTP headers.
May I know a good way I can achieve this?
This is easier than I thought just capturing with its name.
string xtoken= response.Headers["custom-header"];
Console.WriteLine(xtoken);
Try this as below, represents, Request Data Using the WebRequest Class.In most cases, the WebRequest class is sufficient to receive data. However, if you need to set protocol-specific properties, you must cast the WebRequest to the protocol-specific type. For example, to access the HTTP-specific properties of HttpWebRequest, cast the WebRequest to an HttpWebRequest reference.
private XmlDocument GetRootLevelServiceDocument(
string serviceEndPoint, string oAuthToken)
{
XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
HttpWebRequest request = CreateHttpRequest(serviceEndPoint,
oAuthToken);
using (HttpWebResponse response =
(HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse())
{
using (XmlReader reader =
XmlReader.Create(response.GetResponseStream(),
new XmlReaderSettings() { CloseInput = true }))
{
xmlDoc.Load(reader);
string data = ReadResponse(response);
if (response.StatusCode != HttpStatusCode.OK)
{
LogMsg(string.Format("Error: {0}", data));
LogMsg(string.Format(
"Unexpected status code returned: {0}",
response.StatusCode));
}
}
}
return xmlDoc;
}
