Steps Which I followed :
Download latest version of unity 2018.2.0f2
After installing unity I changed Scripting runtime version 4.x
then I tried to install entity package from package manager but I am getting following error:
An error occurred while resolving packages:
One or more packages could not be added to the local file system:
com.unity.burst: write EPROTO 101057795:error:140770FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:unknown protocol:openssl\ssl\s23_clnt.c:797:

A re-import of the project may be required to fix the issue or a manual modification of E:/New Unity Project (3)/Packages/manifest.json file.
Assembly has reference to non-existent assembly 'Unity.Burst' (Packages/com.unity.entities/Unity.Transforms/Unity.Transforms.asmdef)
Can somebody help me to resolve this problem? thanks in advance.
Unity's Entity Component System is still in experimental mode and requires Unity beta version to use it. The Unity 2018.2.0f2 version you are currently using is not a beta version.
Change your instruction for step #1 and download Unity 2018.1.0b12 from here. Follow the rest of the instruction as they are.
It's also worth noting that the Entity Component System will only work in the Editor at this time. Don't expect it to work in a build for now.

Working on wpf application, with Wix to create .msi. why am i getting error

using msbuild version '17.2.1.25201

Please check if the below steps help to fix the issue:
As per my research, it seems to be many bug fixes in every alternate version of the MS Build like 15.8.1, 16.11, etc.
There are some breaking changes and behavior changes mentioned in the MSFT official documentation of MSBuild 17.0. Please check this documentation to know more information if these changes with their resolutions helps to fix the issue.
And it might be the folder path in the build was wrong. Target Name must include the name of the solution folder. Refer this.
Try Restoring the MSBuild Nuget Package Version using this command:
nuget restore MySolution.sln -MSBuildVersion 16.11
I've been having conflicts with Microsoft.Azure.Mobile and Microsoft.AppCenter in a Xamarin iOS project.
I'm creating a framework that will be released as a nuget, in that framework I reference AppCenter. The app where I'm testing my nuget has a reference to Microsoft.Azure.Mobile, which references the same Microsoft.AppCenter nuget triggering the following error:
Project/iOS/MTOUCH: Error MT4116: Could not register the assembly 'Microsoft.Azure.Mobile.iOS.Bindings': error MT4118: Cannot register two managed types ('Microsoft.Azure.Mobile.iOS.Bindings.MSCustomProperties, Microsoft.Azure.Mobile.iOS.Bindings' and 'Microsoft.AppCenter.iOS.Bindings.MSCustomProperties, Microsoft.AppCenter.iOS.Bindings') with the same native name ('MSCustomProperties'). (MT4116)(Project.iOS)
I tried the following solutions with no success:
1: https://forums.xamarin.com/discussion/comment/54126/#Comment_54126
2: https://github.com/xamarin/xamarin-macios/issues/4721
Would love some help :)
The problem was that the Microsoft.Azure.Mobile it's an old package no longer being supported and is using the AppCenter services, I removed that package and just added the most recent package from AppCenter which uses the same services.
I just open a project using Unity 2019.2.13f1. This Project was previously created using Unity 2020.1.0a14
However, I got below error:
Library/PackageCache/com.unity.timeline#1.2.3/Runtime/Utilities/AnimatorBindingCache.cs(91,40): error CS0117: 'AnimationMode' does not contain a definition for 'GetCurveBindings'
any idea to solve this error?
Thank You...
Update the Unity to the version 2019.3.0f1 to solve the problem. Also update Timeline package in Package Manager (Window / Package Manager).
go to Package Manager, find the package having the error (com.unity.timeline in this case) and remove it to force Unity to download the package version matching the editor
I get many error messages if I install the Xamarin.Firebase.iOS.CloudMessaging 3.1.2 nuget package.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the nuget package but I still get the same errors.
I use Visual Studio Community for Mac 8.1.5 (build 9).
I need Xamarin.Firebase.iOS.CloudMessaging because I follow this tutorial: https://www.robbiecode.com/setup-push-notifications-with-firebase-in-xamarin-forms-for-ios/
What is wrong with my project? What can I do?
The following two projects are in my solution:
InapppurchaseTest.iOS, MonoGame.Framework.iOS (develop)
Well, this is a well-known issue with Firebase and Xamarin, what basically happens here is the old bin and obj files while interacting with the new data override some existing files that are needed by iOS to synthesize the IPA while deployment and hence ends up throwing linking RELATED errors, follow the below steps and it will clear this mess.
Clean bin and obj
Delete the builds in the following path of your MAC machine - ~/Library/Caches/Xamarin/mtbs/builds/ProjNAME where 'ProjName' is the name of the project you are currently working on
Once you are done with both the above steps add the Xamarin.Firebase.iOS.CloudMessaging package and change linker setting to Don't Link (this is for the time being)
After installing these packages see to it that you build your project dependency wise which means PCL'S and .Net standards first then the native iOS project.
Clean bin and obj again if it does not work for the first build...
This should solve your issues in case it does not repeat the above procedure.
EDIT
If you check the GitHub comment by SotoiGhost here, it says adding the below line anywhere in your project should solve this issue...
var foo = Firebase.Core.Configuration.SharedInstance;
Feel free to get back in case of issues
Good luck!
I am newer about using Code First in c#.
After I enabled Migration in my project and launch my site, I get an Error:
Method 'ExecuteAsync' in type 'System.Data.Entity.SqlServer.DefaultSqlExecutionStrategy' from assembly 'EntityFramework.SqlServer, Version=6.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' does not have an implementation.
I have defined the context class as below.
namespace MyOA.Migration.Contexts
{
public class OADBContext : DbContext
{
public OADBContext() { }
}
}
and I tried to create the DB in Global.asax as below.
protected void Application_Start()
{
// Forces initialization of database on model changes.
using (var context = new Migration.Contexts.OADBContext())
{
context.Database.Initialize(force: true);
}
}
I tried to search the reason but got no idea.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
If you check the .NET version of the two asseblies:
EntityFramework (v4.5)
EntityFramework.SqlServer (v4.0)
You will see that EntityFramework.SqlServer has v4.0 .NET dependency, but EntityFramework uses v4.5. That is the root of the issue. I use dotpeek tool for checking the assembly version (there are other options from stack overflow to check .net vestion of an assembly).
Note: and really when you decompile EntityFramework.SqlServer.dll using jetBrains reflector tool you will find that there is no ExecuteAsync method.
What we have to do to fix the issue is to use nuget.exe (from visual studio or from stand alone nuget executable: please find "latest nuget.exe"). And run it from command line:
cd "[path to your nuget.exe]"
nuget Install EntityFramework
A set of EF 6 assemblis will be downloaded. Use the EntityFramework and EntityFramework.SqlServer from .net v4.5 folder.
I +1'd #Spirit's answer for pointing me at the root of the issue, but I was able to fix it for myself by searching through all of the *.csproj files in the solution and replacing
packages\EntityFramework.6.1.3\lib\net40\EntityFramework.dll
^^^^^
with
packages\EntityFramework.6.1.3\lib\net45\EntityFramework.dll
^^^^^
I had a mix of usages in the projects. My symptom was that NCruch would get the exception on a test, but running the same test from NUnit test runner would pass just fine.
I faced this issue in my work, and tried suggested solutions with no luck, but the solution that worked out for us was to use a relatively older version of Entity Framework, we used version 6.0.0 while the latest (as of the time I'm writing down this answer) is 6.1.3
The issue with me was that my project was targeting .Net Framework 2.0, and suddenly when upgraded to .Net Framework 4.6.1 a warning appeared so I tried to update Entity Framework package which was on the latest 6.1.3, but it stopped working properly, and got the exception mentioned above.
Hope this will help somebody later.
I had this same problem but the cause was different. In the "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files" folder, there were several versions of the entityframe dlls. No doubt older versions. I had already recycled the iis pool and restarted the computer but that didn't work. I had to delete all the files in that folder and that did the trick.
Since all similar S/O questions are being directed to this one, I'll leave another idea to consider. Check to make sure that EntityFramework hasn't been installed into you GAC by chance. IIS will take the GAC version over your bin version leading to some serious head scratching.
