I want to Drag and Drop Item between Listbox. One is located in MainWindow and one in UserControl. Tab control items are dynamically coded.([VideoListing], [AddTab, AddItem]) I'm curious if this works and then give me directions.
This is what I wanted.

And, this is my Codes

Drag and Drop between listbox(MainWindow - UserControl)
Tabitems are dynamic coded
I solved this problem. Using by DragDrop.DoDragDrop
When I ran DragDrop.DoDragDrop(DependencyObject dragSourse, object data, DragDropEffects allowedEffects) when I pressed the left mouse button. And when I drop an item into another listbox, generate ListBox_Drop event. In LisetBox_Drop event, Just pull the data out of DragEventArgs.
Listbox - drag
private void ListBox_MouseMove(object sender, MouseEventArgs e)
{
DataObject dataObj = new DataObject();
dynamic Booth = listBox.SelectedItem as dynamic;
if (sender is ListBox && e.LeftButton == MouseButtonState.Pressed)
{
dataObj.SetData("Name", Booth.Name);
dataObj.SetData("Path", Booth.Path);
DragDrop.DoDragDrop(listBox, dataObj, DragDropEffects.Move);
}
}
Listbox - drop
private void ListBox_Drop(object sender, DragEventArgs e)
{
string name = (string)e.Data.GetData("Name");
string path = (string)e.Data.GetData("Path");
}

All you need is to make the thing in ListView's ItemTemplate clickable. The easiest way to do that is to use a Button instead of a TextBlock. You can disable the Button's background and border to make it appear like text, but remain clickable.
Also, you don't need to use a ListView within an Expander. ListView offers scrolling capabilities and you don't need that. An ItemsControl will be enough.
Here's an example:
<Expander
Header="Expand me">
<ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding SubItems}">
<ItemsControl.ItemTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<Button
Background="Transparent"
BorderThickness="0"
Command="{Binding DataContext.DoSomethingCommand, ElementName=ThisWindow}"
Content="{Binding Name}" />
</DataTemplate>
</ItemsControl.ItemTemplate>
</ItemsControl>
</Expander>
I'm binding to the same ICommand for all the sub items in this example. Realisticly, you would either pass a CommandParameter as well for the different sub items or bind to a different command per item.
After hours of searching the web I found a solution.
Method
public static void Navigate(object target)
{
((MainWindow)Application.Current.Windows[0]).ContentFrame.Content = target;
}
Implementation
switch (Globals.PageName)
{
case "Landing":
Pages.Landing itemZ = new Pages.Landing();
Navigate(itemZ);
break;
case "ClientAcquisition":
Pages.ClientAcquisition item = new Pages.ClientAcquisition();
Navigate(item);
break;
I have a quite complicated structure of ListViews. Inside this structure are TextBoxes with values from my ViewModel. When I change a value in some textbox, the property in ViewModel doesn't update. The "AllTexts" property in ViewModel still contains only "Hello" strings.
Basically, I want to show user structure of strings and then let the user change this structure. After he finishes his modification I want to save his changes. "Hello" strings are here just for testing.
My ViewModel:
class MainWindowViewModel
{
public ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<string>>> AllTexts { get; set; }
public int SelectedGroupIndex { get; set; }
public int SelectedColumnIndex { get; set; }
public ICommand AddGroup { get; private set; }
public ICommand AddColumn { get; private set; }
public MainWindowViewModel()
{
this.AllTexts = new ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<string>>>();
this.SelectedGroupIndex = -1;
this.SelectedColumnIndex = -1;
this.AddGroup = new Command(this.AddGroupCommandHandler);
this.AddColumn = new Command(this.AddColumnCommandHandler);
}
private void AddGroupCommandHandler()
{
var tempColumn = new ObservableCollection<string>() { "Hello", "Hello", "Hello", "Hello", "Hello" };
var tempGroup = new ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<string>>();
tempGroup.Add(tempColumn);
this.AllTexts.Add(new ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<string>>(tempGroup));
}
private void AddColumnCommandHandler()
{
if (this.SelectedGroupIndex >= 0 && this.SelectedGroupIndex < this.AllTexts.Count)
{
var tempColumn = new ObservableCollection<string>() { "Hello", "Hello", "Hello", "Hello", "Hello" };
this.AllTexts[this.SelectedGroupIndex].Add(tempColumn);
}
}
}

Could someone, please help me?
Thank you.
Your ViewModel has to notify the View about the changes, or else the View retains original values of the ViewModel
In this case, string cannot notify the changes made to itself. Only its enclosing observable collection can notify about changes made to itself like add or remove and does not monitor further into its elements.
So you need an observable string:
public class MyString : DependencyObject
{
public string Value
{
get { return (string)GetValue(ValueProperty); }
set { SetValue(ValueProperty, value); }
}
public static readonly DependencyProperty ValueProperty =
DependencyProperty.Register("Value", typeof(string), typeof(MyString), new PropertyMetadata(""));
}
To use in the collection:
public ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<ObservableCollection<MyString>>> AllTexts { get; set; }
I also added the following line to the MyString class in order to test the code and it worked.
public static MyString Hello { get { return new MyString { Value = "Hello" }; } }
Obviously, this is how it will be used:
var tempColumn = new ObservableCollection<MyString>() { MyString.Hello, MyString.Hello, MyString.Hello, MyString.Hello, MyString.Hello };
In xaml there are also some unnecessary things which you can get rid of:
use ItemsSource="{Binding}" for both ListViews, and use Text="{Binding Value}" for the TextBox. (there is no need for explicit TwoWay in any of those)
I have been having a problem with getting the exact value from the stackpanel.

the problem is whenever I click on Malaria,
it goes to the other page and shows cancer, which is the first vaule in the list.
How can I get the value of the item I click and not of the first item. I Have attached screenshot for you'll to get a better knowledge of things.
I looked at your code and there is one thing that I don't understand.
Why are you using 2 events to navigate. Only one would do the job.
private void MedicinesGridView_ItemClick(object sender, ItemClickEventArgs e)
{
var selectedDisease = e.ClickedItem as Disease;
this.Frame.Navigate(typeof(malaria), selectedDisease);
}
You don't need the getMedicinesName either.
Don't forget to remove the SelectionChanged event both from you code behind and XAML.
I have a list view which I populate it from an API.. I want it fill a text box with the value which is found in the text block when I click..
My Listview...
<ListView Width="300" Height="134" x:Name="lsvObjectives" IsItemClickEnabled="True" SelectionMode="Multiple" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={StaticResource cvsObjectives}}" ItemClick="lsvObjectives_ItemClick">
<ListView.ItemsPanel>
<ItemsPanelTemplate>

</ListView.ItemsPanel>

<Style TargetType="ListViewItem">
<Setter Property="Padding" Value="0"/>
<Setter Property="Margin" Value="-7"/>
</Style>
</ListView.ItemContainerStyle>
<ListView.ItemTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" Margin="0,0,0,0" HorizontalAlignment="Center" >
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" Width="310" Height="33" Background="#FFE9D5F0" HorizontalAlignment="Left">

</StackPanel>
</StackPanel>
</StackPanel>
</DataTemplate>
</ListView.ItemTemplate>
</ListView>
This is how I populate the list:
private async void getObjectives()
{
string getObjectives = baseAddress + "unitPlansDetailsByUnit/1";
var content = await httpClient.GetStringAsync(new Uri(getObjectives));
objectivesHelper data = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<objectivesHelper>(content);
foreach (var item in data.result)
{
cvsObjectives.Source = data.result;
}
}
My Classes:
public class objectives
{
public int id { get; set; }
public string objective { get; set; }
}
class objectivesHelper
{
public List<objectives> result { get; set; }
}
I am unable to read the value from the text block which is found in my list view..
Someone kindly help me do this..
Any kind of help is appreciated....
You can read the value in your lsvObjectives_ItemClick method by casting the ItemClickEventArgs.ClickedItem to your type objectives.
For example:
private void lsvObjectives_ItemClick(object sender, ItemClickEventArgs e)
{
objectives item = e.ClickedItem as objectives;
var itemText = item.objective;
youtTextBox.Text = item.Description.ToString();
}
I have a Dictionary that contains an ObservableCollection like this:
Dictionary<string, ObservableCollection<Person>> MyDictionary
Now in my xaml, I'm creating an itemscontrol that uses the dictionary's key for an expander and the person's collection in a listview something like this:
<ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding MyDictionary}" VerticalAlignment="Center" HorizontalAlignment="Left">
<ItemsControl.ItemsPanel>
<ItemsPanelTemplate>
<StackPanel Orientation="Vertical"/>
</ItemsPanelTemplate>
</ItemsControl.ItemsPanel>
<ItemsControl.ItemTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<Expander Name="expander" IsExpanded="True">
<Expander.Header>
<StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal">
<TextBlock Margin="5" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Text="MyString:"/>
<TextBlock Margin="5" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Text="{Binding Key}"/>
</StackPanel>
</Expander.Header>
<Expander.Content>
<ListView SelectionMode="Single" ItemsSource="{Binding Value}">
<ListView.View>
<GridView AllowsColumnReorder="True">
<GridViewColumn>
<GridViewColumn.Header>
<TextBlock Text="Name" Margin="5" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/>
</GridViewColumn.Header>
<GridViewColumn.CellTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<TextBlock Text="{Binding Name}" Margin="5" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/>
</DataTemplate>
</GridViewColumn.CellTemplate>
</GridViewColumn>
<GridViewColumn>
<GridViewColumn.Header>
<TextBlock Text="Last Name" Margin="5" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/>
</GridViewColumn.Header>
<GridViewColumn.CellTemplate>
<DataTemplate>
<TextBlock Text="{Binding LastName}" Margin="5" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"/>
</DataTemplate>
</GridViewColumn.CellTemplate>
</GridViewColumn>
</GridView>
</ListView.View>
</ListView>
</Expander.Content>
</Expander>
</DataTemplate>
</ItemsControl.ItemTemplate>
</ItemsControl>
Now, as you can see it creates a collection of expanders and each expander has a listview within it's content...
I want to let only one listview have a selected item, how can I do it?
If I wasn't clear: I will have 3 Expanders, each one has 1 ListView, each ListView has 4-5 item's, i want that when a user click on a listviewitem all other ListViews selected items will be unselected.
Thanks !
Why don't you subscribe to the selection event of each list view and call UnselectAll on the others.
Hey I have an idea to do this . Bind the SelectedItem of all the listBox to same SelectedItemProperty of ViewModel like
>xaml here I have two ListBox whose SelectedItem is bound to same property of VM
<StackPanel Height="500" Width="500">
<ListBox Height="200" ItemsSource="{Binding StudentList1}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedStudent}"></ListBox>
<ListBox Height="200" ItemsSource="{Binding StudentList2}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedStudent}"></ListBox>
</StackPanel>
xaml.cs
public MainWindow()
{
InitializeComponent();
DataContext = new ViewModel();
}
ViewModel
public class ViewModel:INotifyPropertyChanged
{
public ViewModel()
{
StudentList1 = new ObservableCollection<Student>();
StudentList1.Add(new Student() { Name = "abc", Age = 20 });
StudentList1.Add(new Student() { Name = "abc", Age = 20 });
StudentList1.Add(new Student() { Name = "abc", Age = 20 });
StudentList2 = new ObservableCollection<Student>();
StudentList2.Add(new Student() { Name = "xyz", Age = 30 });
StudentList2.Add(new Student() { Name = "xyz", Age = 30 });
StudentList2.Add(new Student() { Name = "xyz", Age = 30 });
}
public ObservableCollection<Student> StudentList1 { get; set; }
public ObservableCollection<Student> StudentList2 { get; set; }
Student selectedStudent;
public Student SelectedStudent
{
get { return selectedStudent; }
set { selectedStudent = value; Notify("SelectedStudent"); }
}
public void Notify(string propName)
{
if (PropertyChanged != null)
PropertyChanged(this, new PropertyChangedEventArgs(propName));
}
public event PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged;
}
Student Class
public class Student
{
public string Name { get; set; }
public int Age { get; set; }
