Changing property IsIndeterminate on MaterialDesign button in WPF - c#

I'm using a material design button in WPF and I'm not quite sure how to control the property IsIndeterminate from within C# code as the below does not work, like it usually does with "standard" properties like Content etc.

I want the materialDesign:ButtonProgressAssist.IsIndeterminate property to be changed in the Click event when the button is pressed and then once I am done processing I need to change it back to False.

It is a dependency property so it can be set like this:
ButtonProgressAssist.SetIsIndeterminate(BTN_Search, true);

Radio button in Gridcolumn won't trigger binding

I have two devexpress gridcolumns with one radio button in each.
In code behind when I am setting a value to the properties binding to the radio button, the binding takes. But when I am changing selected radio button in the view the selected won't trigger the property.
what am I missing?

The cause of your problem is most likely the fact that you are trying to use a non-DX control as an edit of a GridColumn which is discouraged explicitly by DevExpress. Try replacing the RadioButton with a DX-CheckEdit for example.
Key-take-aways from my experience:
do NOT use non-DX controls as InplaceEdits of a GridControl.
for DX-edits to work correctly when assigned in a CellTemplate
their name has to be set to 'PART_Editor'. Omitting that will lead to problems with navigation etc.
Use the the GridColumn.FieldName-property instead of binding. This should make the InplaceEdit inherit the binding from its Column automatically.
Change your binding for IsChecked to RowData.Row.IsOrder, it will probably solve your selection problem. You can read a little bit more information on using RowData.Row over Value or Data here.
On another note, as #Sancho Panza said, you're always better to stick with BaseEdit descendant when dealing with CellTemplate.
This is one of the advantages of using a BaseEdit descendant in CellTemplate :
For the DevExpress Data Editors (the BaseEdit class's descendants), you can set the editor's Name property to PART_Editor. In this case, the GridControl automatically adjusts its appearance and synchronizes the editor with the source field specified by the ColumnBase.FieldName or ColumnBase.Binding properties.
You can use any binding with an editor named PART_Editor. In this case, the GridControl's logic of getting/setting the editor's value is disabled.
The final decision of using a BaseEdit descendant or a WPF RadioButton is yours, but I also recommend sticking with BaseEdit.

Setting Textblock/Button Visibility on WP8 App using MVVM

I'm new to MVVM and I'm working on a WP8 app and I'd like to be able to set the visibility of buttons and a textblock based on when one of those buttons were tapped. Here's my View to try and explain my problem a bit better; (http://i.imgur.com/JvrxBkh.png - can't post an image on this reputation) .
When the user taps the "Going to sleep" button, I'd like the counter textblock and the "I'm awake" button to be visible with the "Going to sleep" button to be collapsed. It'll then work the other way once the "I'm awake" button is pressed, etc. If I wasn't using MVVM I'd just set the Visibility value inside the button event, but I'm stuck on how to do this when using the MVVM pattern.
I've looked around and come across a solution using a converter such as using a BooleanToVisibilityConverter class and a bool property and then setting the visibility by binding to the bool value from the ViewModel and setting the converter value for the visibility to the StaticResource BooleanToVisibilityConverter. But it just doesn't work for me the way I want. Then my counter textblock has a bind already from the ViewModel so would I need some kind of multi-binding for this textblock?
Hopefully I've explained myself OK. It seems like it should be a simple task that maybe I'm just over thinking or something.

It doesn't work, obviously. I think what's throwing me is because I want several things changed when one button is pressed, etc. It's throwing me off.
I've not done any Windows Phone development but here's one way of doing it in WPF that might be applicable to WP also.
First, your ViewModel would have a couple of Boolean properties indicating which state is active (one would be a mirror of the other):

Then your View would contain both parts of the UI (asleep & awake) but would switch between the two parts by binding their Visibility property to these Boolean properties of your ViewModel:

I've used two Boolean properties in this example as it makes the XAML a little easier, however you could also use a DataTrigger -- assuming they have those in Windows Phone -- in which case you would only need one Boolean property. You would then write a trigger to toggle the Visibility properties of the two parts:

For this to work you would need to explicitly set the "AwakePart" visibility to Hidden in the XAML to start with and ensure that in your ViewModel the IsAwake property is false by default. You would also need to remove the bindings on the visibility properties (as these would now be set via the trigger).

Is this concept of a button containing a textbox possible?

Recently I had been looking for a way to make the tabs in a TabControl editable and came across This example on telerik's website. That did exactly what I wanted but it got me thinking about a similar usage for buttons. I was wondering if it would be possible to use something like that and make a button that would show a textbox instead of the content presenter when say, you right click the button? I tried to make something like this work but so far have only ended up with a blank button.

edit: This button will be in an itemscontrol, so I don't think naming the inner elements in xaml will work, but I do like the ease of Wolfgang's answer.
The WPF Content Model is really flexible and allows literally anything inside anything.
This is perfectly valid XAML:

You can simply host a (e.g.) label (TextBlock) with the text AND a TextBox inside the Button and set their Visiblity properties.
That way, if you right click the button, the TextBox shows up.

Remove WPF IsDefault

I have 3 conrtols placed on my Window in WPF, each control contains one or more TextBox and Button, when a new control is selected I would like to change the IsDefault to that button. What I am currently doing is when the TextBox's GotFocus event is fired, I change my Button to IsDefault. This works the first time but when I change from one control to another, and back to the first selected control the second controls IsDefault is still true and when enter is pressed it fires the Click event on the incorrect control.
Is there a way that i can clear all IsDefault properties on my window or what is a better solution to my current way of doing this? See image below for example, when enter is pressed the Button with "..." is fired instead of quick search.

Your code is slightly different in that you are providing buttons to some custom control. These buttons are declared in a different scope to where they end up (ie I assume they end up inside the OdcTextBox template somewhere). I suspect this is why WPF can't find the named element since that element is named in an outer scope.
You could try using RelativeSource to find the parent OdcTextBox instead:

How to bind item values in an accordion header template

I'm trying to create a simple header template for an accordion object in silverlight 4.
I've added an image and a TextBlock to the header template of the AccordionItem. I want to hide or show the image dependant on the values entered on the page.
Because i want to bind these values directly to the actual accordion item, I've created a new type 'AccordionItemWithIcons' that simply inherits from AccordionItem but adds a couple of dependancy properties to handle this. I'm only showing a couple of those properties for brevity. :)
So, here's my accordion with my 'AccordionItemWithIcons' control. Note that the property 'CheckIsVisible' is of type 'Visibility'
