I have cloned a project from repository, After resolving other references issues I am stuck at
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or
one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
the Package 'Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure' is already installed but I can not find its reference and neither I can uninstall this package
Update
I have accidentally removed that reference and now I cannot find that reference
This is because Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure is not in your GAC.
Add this reference (Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure) to your project as the following.
Right click the reference.
Go to properties.
Set copy to local to true.
Finally I created an other ASP.NET MVC empty project and copy
Microsoft.Web.Infrastructure.dll
file to the bin folder of this project and it worked for me

Our app appears to be creating Xamarin.ios.dll files within the debug folders on the build. we then get the following error on certain events
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Xamarin.iOS, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=84e04ff9cfb79065' or one of its dependencies.
We believe this is coming from one of the packages added to the project. is there an easy way to discover which package it is?
Assembly Folder:
After removing Xamarin.forms and adding the the latest version im still not given the option add the Xamarin.forms to the shared references.
References which can be added:
The app will only build if Xamarin.iOS is with the Assembly folder as shown in the previous image
we get this Error if we do not add the Xamerin.iOS.dll to the shared assembly folder:
Reported as an issue in VS
"Xamarin.iOS" is contained in "Xamarin.Forms", so try to uninstall the "Xamarin.Forms" Nuget Package and install the latest version.
Then delete the "bin" and "obj" folder under project path, and clean&rebuild the project.
I have updated System.Net.Http to 4.3.3 and since then I'm getting this error. One question is why is it still fetching System.Net.Http 2.2.9 files while it is not present in packages folder. System.Net.Http.Extensions is not in my References list. Where can I get the latest dll? Appreciate any help.
Here is the build log in Detailed mode
Could not resolve this reference. Could not locate the assembly "mscorlib,

Retargetable=Yes". Check to make sure the assembly exists on disk. If this
reference is required by your code, you may get compilation errors.

You can check that nuget packages exit or not
reinstall the packages using the Package Manager Console:
Update-Package -reinstall
You need to copy all dlls from debug folder to release folder.
One thing more: Make sure your project files are not read-only. if it is read only then remove the read-only property by right clicking on the project folder and select properties. In the properties screen remove the read-only checkbox.
If that will not work then go through This Link You will find details regarding your problem
So I started working on an existing project at work in NopCommerence and I accidently added the Newtonsoft.Json DLL to the Nop.Core project, ever since then, the project keeps randomly crashing giving me the error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=6.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its
dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not
match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
Could not load file or assembly 'Newtonsoft.Json, Version=4.5.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=30ad4fe6b2a6aeed' or one of its
dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not
match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
I removed the reference from the project right away, so there is now no reference to this DLL in the Nop.Core project.
But there is some code in the project which looks for the reference:
When we get to that plugin it crashes here:
I got no clue where to even look to solve this, it looks like it's trying to load two different versions of the DLL and when I Google around, it says to update though NuGet and I did this and nothing has solved it.
So you removed the reference, but what about the actual dll file? It looks like something is 'discovering' it at runtime and it exists on your disk somewhere and the application is finding it.
It's hard to know what to suggest but try to find out where the app is looking for plugin files, then look in that directory and delete the Json stuff. You could also try just deleting all of the bin and obj directories in the whole solution, since they will be re-created by the next build. Also look in the packages directory in the root of your solution, you may find a copy of the Json package lingering there. If you;ve definitely removed it using NuGet, then delete it from packages too.
Make a backup copy before you start, just in case my suggestions are complete rubbish ;-)
So I have a WPF project and my interface in a different project than the main one. I went to reference System.Windows.Interactivity, but it would not work. Not until I added it as a reference to the main project as well...
This is the first time this has ever happened with any reference I have added. What makes this one so special?
EDIT:
By wouldn't work... This is the error.
{"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Windows.Interactivity, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."}
System.Windows.Interactivity.dll is not in the GAC, so .Net doesn't know where to find it.
By adding a reference to your main project, you make the build system copy the DLL to the output folder.
This lets the runtime find it.
I'm trying to compile an application for which I have the solution and can't get past:
'Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common.Configuration.IConfigurationSource'
is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a
reference to assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Common,
Version=3.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'
So I added the assembly to the GAC:
After some research I opened up visual studio with the Fusion Assembly Binding Viewer running, which seemed to create a lot of logs but none that related to this exact version of the assembly (however 4.1.0.0 is in there).
I can't simply add -> reference as VS tells me that a reference with the same name already exists.
What other avenues should I explore?
Have you tried to Alias the assembly also if you are using .net 4.0 you would have to have an entry in the .config file for example that shows the old assembly name referencing the new assembly name. Several other things to keep in mind .. if the .DLL is in the GAC and you don't have a copy of that assembly in the bin folder, this could cause an issue..
Is this local referencing or is the code on a remote machine ..? if it's a remote machine.. why not add that specific assembly to the GAC.. notice the versioning difference of the two assembly's in your screen shot as well..
